its simulated.  There might be some groups of people who would allow you to actually handcuff someone but ....  personally you would get an intimate introduction to the stock of my AEG.....well just dont go there.

Additionally, as soon as you place handcuffs on someone you become legally responsible for almost anything that happens to them, and if you are not trained in the correct deployment of handcuffs and hurt someone you are toast.

Its just better to simulate....

if you really want to put handcuffs on someone there are other forums better suited to your desires...

I noticed at zussman they had a pair of nomex gloves with Zip ties between them, a creative and safe way to simulate ZipCuffs

Handcuffs? Sounds like a good way to get bashed in the face! Nobody but nobody is going to restrain me without legal reason to do so.

we dont have to handcuff anyone to call them a prisoner. if someone is taken prisoner.. thats it, they're captured and expacted to act captured witout handcuffs.... its the same reason we dont ACTUALLY kill the person we shot at. they are supposed to act dead.. not be it

You'd get taken to the ground pretty quick if someone tried to put cuffs on me. If someone doesnt want to follow the rules about POW's, let them.

Cuffs are no fun, but dont really have a place in airsoft.

If anything, the plastic cuffs a 3 y.o. could break off for visual purpose.

Or the fuzzy cuffs

Too Much Information! ....

Actually - I kinda like the idea of the tethered gloves If you *MUST* do it.

However, there isn't a reason to do it - we're all honorable here.

We had the captured down pilot at Dog Skull just put his hands behind his back and keep them there while walking back.....worked fine.

Any one who attempts to handcuff me is going to regret doing so, because it will go from MilSim to hand to hand real fast, Someone might just find themselves handcuffed around a tree or cactus ( which ever is closer, i'm not picky) real fast

Around a tree? Are these Giant Handcuffs? Or just tiny trees?

I like how everyone is taking this opportunity to talk really bad-ass about how much they'd kick your ass. I think that maybe the point has been made, though. Just maybe.

I believe the real (hypothetical?) question was: what is the corect method of cuffing a pw.  Since no one has done anything but bitched about why you shouldn't or offered any insight to the prospect of doing so, and the ramifications of said action - I offer:

the correct method is:

Subject on knees, crossed legs
interlock fingers on top of head
use weak hand (so if you are a right hander use your left) to place subjects leftie in wrist lock, and apply cuff, lock side away from fingers, in a firm but not hurting way. use cuff to bring subjests hand around - palm out towards you to the small of his/her back. Holding weak hand with cuff attached bring subjects right hand to the small of his back, and attach remaining cuff, again lock away from finger/hand side, and palm out.

this was the way I did it, and was taught by an MP/Kansas state trooper
AND a glendale PD instructor in an EP class at GCC.

for those who resisted me, and there were a few - it ended up with my knee in thier back and them getting an arm bar. and if you ever have to cuff 2 at a time ( I caught a pair of taggers and only had one set) cuff them right hand to right hand. then have them sit side by side until PD arrives to laugh... er I mean recuff both.

the ramifications of cuffing someone is very delicate. You have to A. see them commit a misdemeanor or a felony, stop them using equal force  (another thing entirely.) and inform them that you are placing them under citizens arrest. If they are combative - then you may restrain them with cuffs. Not until then. meanwhile you have to call the authorities and inform them that you have the subject under citizens arrest, and whether you have them restrained or not. You can not move them more than 50 - 100 feet from the original location you have "arrested " them unless in not doing so, it puts you in an unsafe situation, otherwise it constitutes kidnapping.

very true but, out of all of us here who really trusts another person to handcuff you? i mean no offense to anyone but i am new here and don't know alot of you. So no all of a sudden you want me to remove one of my only ways to defend myself because you guys want to make the game more realistic? I don't think so. However on a side note nice cuffing technique i normally like to use the falkner method its a little bit more comfortable for me, to each his own.
