Arizona paintball depot BEST AIRSOFT STORE EVER
« on: October 24, 2006, 10:50:14 PM »
i know what your thinking  a paintball store wouldnt carry airsoft well not any good ones anyways. but i personally have been inside every airsoft store  for jungle toy, airsoft depot, command post....  and none how come close to what the guys at apd have. i talked with one of the guys for about an hour and he told me alot about the guns i was looking at getting (marui m15) which they have and at a really good price seeing it comes with bat and charger but i wanted something a little different and after looking over there wall of over 100's of DIFFERENT high end guns i got a g36 but i wanted something that was reliable and fixable so i went classic army. i was vary impressed with ther selection of every mauri from p90 to g36 to the electric glocks to a huge selection of rebuild and up grade parts. i dropped about $300 or so into upgrades into my gun and lets just say i have yet to see another g36 out do mine.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO CHECK OUT THIS STORE THEY HAVE EVERYTHING  27TH ST AND BELL RD NEXT TO THE PEP BOYS.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED

Holy. Shit.

Do you work there? This is like...a hardcore plug. I promote the store I work at, but I'm not putting anything about it in my sig, and not making every post I've made so far about this store.

With that: Go introduce yourself, let us know more about YOU and less about this store.

By the way, you can't use your G36 anywhere at 450 FPS.

I don't see any APD people attending any airsoft games, whereas the JT staff are all about it. Not to mention JT is an airsoft store not a paintball store with airball guns collecting dust. I have yet to see any store with more than 20 high end guns on display at any given time, including consignment sales.

Well, you should go to APD then, they do have a fairly good selection of pretty high end stuff in stock at the Phoenix location usually. Prices are pretty high though.

Sorry the wall looks a little empty right now,  I count 37 High ends on the wall.  All CA, Marui, and Star.  40 if you count the G&G m14, Star L85 AFV, and the Marui Type 89 hiding in their boxes behind the counter.  As for us not playing,  We do, Only we tend to play at night when we close the store.  We would Play more on Sundays but with all the paintball tournys and traveling we dont get to that often.  Our prices are more than fair, especially when they are cheaper than/equal to online sites like atlanta airsoft, precision airsoft, and Depot 53.  As for sleepers post I remember working on his gun, he isnt an employee but he did spend a lot on his gun.  here is what he got for 300, CA Super high speed motor, CA high speed helical gears, madbull barrel, CA G36 bore up kit, CA 170% spring, G36 K Rails, 10.8V PEQ Battery, 2 boxes of Star 140 mid caps, and a foregrip.  It was all installed in 45 minutes at time of purchase.  the only thing sketch about his statement is the ROF.  My chrono can not count anything faster than 21.  His shot at least 21, with an average speed of 430, which we all know will decrease a little as the spring breaks in let me know if I forgot anything sleeper, and thanks for the support.  I owe you a T shirt  :)

Well, I just called them to ask about a couple things, they were fairly helpful, although it seems like only one guy knows about the airsoft, and he wasn't the guy I talked to on the phone, so, it was basically like I was playing telephone. Slightly irritating. Resulted in me getting one or two incorrect answers.

Prices seem OK on what I asked though.

I have had similar experiences there as well. It takes awhile for staff to come down to the airsoft section, even when there are few customers in. Most the time I was talking to someone who did not know the airsoft equipment. I like how they carry the higher end guns and some other equipment, but the story is clearly set up for paintball that just happened to make a small corner for airsoft, but do not really support it.

Dig the store.... but the door to door sales pitch is kinda dorky.....

Personally I buy from a lot of different places. (Except for Airsplat - never again).  A CA AEG is the same no matter where you buy it and green gas is green gas (for the most part anyway).  I know some of the APD guys have been out to SWPB and its cool they are supporting airsoft in the local community.

sorry dont work there i wish i do but i have been playing paintball for 5 years now and i am a die hard fan of apd they have helped me with every paintball gun purchase i have ever had and as they got more and more airsoft guns in i became more interested in them. i am good friends with pretty much every one that works there and yes some times there are line and it takes some time for help but its a busy store. i told freeloader that if i ever got into airsoft i would hype there store up. and guess what i bought a gun and hyped it up. im not saying every other store is crap or anything like that. im saying if you see ther store or you live close to it go check it out. as for my other post about the 20rd mags and the selector plate i was trying to help a fellow airsofter which i thought is what you guys did on here is help each other at. if some one is looking for something and you saw it at a store you would tell them right? and thats what i did. i spent over 4 hours in there store like three days in a row just looking at airsoft gun so i knew alot of what they had. i knew about the mags casue they were right next to the one i bought for my g36 and the selector plate i saw a bag the said g36 and asked what it was so i knew they had them.
im sorry if i had offended anyone with any of my postings but it the truth and the pictures dont lie they have a but load of high end guns and i have yet to see another store to have that many high ends in stock. i look forward to meeting you all and airsofting with you all.

APD is a pretty cool store.  They have a pretty good selection, not hundreds of aegs, but still good.  Prices on CA aegs are a few bucks cheaper than you'd find them online.  Marui guns are overpriced.  Examples:

A CA M15A4 at AEX is $315 I believe.  At APD it's $305 (if memory serves).

My Marui M14 I paid $350 for on AEX.  At APD, I think they're selling the same gun for $450.

Seeing as how my next gun will probably be a CA Armalite, I'l go to APD.  If I was getting a Marui, though, I'd go online.
