VSR-10 Question

So I have the CA m15A4, but I have some extra cash in my pocket, and christmas is coming, so i decided I would buy a sniper rifle. I like to be sneaky and would like to get a semi cheap start. So I think the VSR-10 looks like the way to go(correct me if I am wrong) and now I just have to decide what one, G-spec, pro sniper or the other. I know they are very subtle differnces but is there one with a better value? Also, I would like to upgrade to a 120 spring, and because I am cheap, I dont have to put any other parts into it do I? and with the 120 spring and the mod where you take out the weights, I will get around 400fps? right? maybe not... thanks for helping :D

G-Spec.

You wouldn't want to go for just 400, you would want more up near 500. A bolt action at 400 is like, the slowest semi-auto AEG ever. The hop will be more accurate but you're really just limiting yourself.

Well anyway, with an upgraded spring you would then want a new cylinder, cylinder head, piston, piston head. Maybe a reinforced bolt handle. A tightbore would be much more important than all that though. This IS supposed to be a sniper rifle after all.

I had the shock verson VSR 11, and I put a 150 spring in it, a new snear, and now I have to put in a new piston (my old one stripped) and now it shoots 480 with .20s. I just left the weights alone...


Well, Jerimiah helped me out with the upgrades.

hmm, you make a good point, what spring is it that is 500fps? I forgot...
this would run me over 300$... hmm. Maybe do you think, I could start out having less fps? then if I really like it, make it more? or is it easier to just bump it up to 500fps right away? and with sniping, never done it before, is there a limit on how close you can shoot?

50 feet, minimum engagement distance.

If you want a cheap sniper rifle, just wait until you have more money. A cheap sniper rifle will not be as accurate as you think it will, but more importantly, it will be a real damper on your fun.

ok, well I have 560 some dollars that I would be willing to spend, not wanting to, but I would if I had to. So lets say that money is not a issue, what would I have to buy to make a fairly good sniper rifle? Do you think I could pull off spending close to 300$ on a gun?

g spec - 230$
tightbore - 55$
spring 130 or 150 - 18$
and all the other stuff that I dont really know the prices on - ?$

ya but I wouldnt need those right away, and they could be christmas presents :D but I am mostly thinking about things I would need from the get go, just to make it a good rifle. I would also prolly get a bipod but not right away. Is there any other websites that sell parts beside trinity? I havnt found some of the parts you mentioned...

airsoftaltanta is where I bought my parts. The VSR 11 has iron sights, and in order for you to put on the scope, you would have to buy the scope mount.

EDIT: Including my two scopes, the upgrades, the mount, I have spend about $250. My rifle is accurate about 250 feet, and the bb stays level 90% of the way.

Wow that seems to be pretty cheap. What upgrades did you put into it? Can you usually outrange a AEG? I would be perfectly fine with spending 250$ to get a pretty good rifle.

<edit> scratch that, I thought you ment 250$ for the whole thing including the gun. lol I may still buy the gun, a few upgrades, and work my way up from there. I dont know...

I built my vsr-11 for about $250 including the gun. It shoots great but I do not have a scope yet, and trust me you really need a scope if you remove the sights.
