It's not a 6.01 though, which is what you would want in this application.

so maybe I should buy the Gspec, buy either a 120 or a 130 spring, scope, and a few internal upgrades. Do you just think it would be a total waste of time and money to only get a 120 spring, gspec, and a scope? then maybe get more upgrades later on?
But to get a good rifle, that would out reach a stock aeg, would this work...

Gspec -http://www.trinityairsoft.com/pc-83-20-tokyo-marui-vsr-g-spec-sniper-spring-airsoft-gun.aspx

Spring - http://www.trinityairsoft.com/ps-269-40-vsr-springs.aspx

Scope - something from walmart

then would I need a cylinder head? - http://www.trinityairsoft.com/ps-296-40-vsr-cylinder-heads-silent.aspx

Wow that seems to be pretty cheap. What upgrades did you put into it? Can you usually outrange a AEG? I would be perfectly fine with spending 250$ to get a pretty good rifle.

<edit> scratch that, I thought you ment 250$ for the whole thing including the gun. lol I may still buy the gun, a few upgrades, and work my way up from there. I dont know...

I put in a 150 spring, a stronger sear, a scope mount, two different scopes, and sometime soon, a new piston.

Those would work. I got mine of airsoft atlanta.
http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/upgrades.htm

Everything for the VSR is at the bottom of the page. Go with which ever sear you want to buy. They both are the samething (almost).

As for the barrel, I have done nothing with mine, and I can still hit a man-sized object 250-300+ feet.

So what do you guys think about going the cheap way? Maybe get something like
 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=1915
I dont really know. 400 fps, comes with a scope, sling everything, and CHEAP! do you think I could upgrade it later if I wanted to? This is what people on another forum suggested I get instead. To get a feel for sniping first. I dont really know what to think now :(

What's the point of a sniper, if it has the power of an AEG? You won't have a very good sniping experience if you go that route. The package is good, but upgrading "later", isn't a good choice IMO. You either get a sniper rifle that fits the role, or be a rifleman.

Ok guys, so I have been thinking and I have decided to do this....

Buy A TM VSR-10 Gspec and some .25g bbs from trinity

then buy s scope from walmart.

Then, for christmas I can get around 200$ worth of stuff, so I will buy the rifle, play around with it stock, then when christmas comes, BANG get a 150 spring. Or maybe just a 130 spring. I have not decided on that one yet. I still need to figure out what I would have to get the support the 150 spring. SO does that sound good?

SO for Christmas...

Spend $50 for a tightbore, $40 for Deep Fire Sear set, $20 for spring guide stopper, and $20 for a 150 spring, $20 for shipping

150$

I think that should get me around 500fps, giving me a much farther reach than most other weapons. Then, since my sis is getting a camera for christmas (about 200$)
then I might even get my parents to buy some of the materials for a ghilli suit, and I am still working on deciding how I am going to make that.

So what do you guys think?? Any suggestions?

Well, that sounds good. What weapon do you plan on using as a sidearm? And are you positive you want to be a sniper, jk.

Also, if you’re going to try out the stock sniper rifle at a few games before Christmas, you will be at a disadvantage. I would just get everything together, and you don't need a scope from wal-mart. Airsoft scopes are cheaper and have about the same magnfication.

EDIT: actually I'm not sure about the scope statement, prices are similar.

Well I will probably buy a GBB someday, but for now just a springer. And I get really tired with foggy lens and it would prbably get old with sniping so what do you guys think about these? http://www.trinityairsoft.com/p-107-tactical-mesh-airsoft-mask-basic-v.aspx
they are mesh, so i dont know how it would work, look cheap to though. Are they considered full face mask?

and, is this a spring guide stopper? http://www.trinityairsoft.com/ps-271-40-vsr-spring-guide-metal-bearings.aspx

and are these the sears? http://www.trinityairsoft.com/p-293-vsr-sears-for-trigger-and-piston.aspx

I'm not sure if you could use a scope with that mask on.

Some places don't allow mesh, and a friend used to use a mesh and said it sucked. Just buy anti-fog spray. Use the search button on here and you should find a few topics about it. And you want to be a sniper, with a springer for a sidearm??? No comment.
I think you should just get an AEG and get the feel of it and to start out. Then, consider sniping. Especially if your serious about airsoft and want to participate in organized games. You’d definitely be better off with an AEG.

I got a CA m15a4 so... I have already gotten a feel for things. And I cant pull hundreds of dollars outa my wazu so you know, I think a springer will do just fine until then. And, would the mask just get in the way?

Scopes work on a principle called 'eye relief'. If your eye is too far away, you can't see a goddamn thing. Masks are thick.
