You goto oplionclaws.com , under 18 needs a guardian/sponser to  be able to attend.

Keep in mind it's in Texas and will cost you a minimum of $200 when it's all said and done.

Is that for the flight, Hotel, or the game fee/bb's?

Well, that factored in driving, and with other people.

If we were talkin about you, pilz, and you're flying, it'd be :

$180 for airfare.
$110 for game fee.
$25-100 for lodgings, but if you do Motel Six and split with other people, for two days it'll be like, $100 before the split.
$40 for food.
$20 for BBs.

I am aware of those, I was going to buy the ticked today, but I do not know the flight number and or time/ day.

Emphasis on the SPONSERSHIP.  You need a credible LC Series Vet to VOUCH for you first.

Might I suggest you coordinate with your sponser about plane tickets, etc before you get to carried away.....

PM me....

Which is handy -- I wasn't directing my comment at you, but at Deltaforce, who, like me with Hac Bao 2 might not understand the hidden costs and the great challenges involved in going to your first national OP.

Speaking of this, would it be a good one to bust my national op cherry on? I was planning on going to LC, and the AO at this OP seems very similar to Tehachapi. What is so special about it?

Lion Claws isn't at Tehachapi any more, in case you were wanting to like, learn the AO before hand.

In my opinion, more than the vast size of this AO (plus of 1000 acres and even more is available), the thing that made Night Scorpion I special was the quality and integrity of play and fun last year.

Without casting stones, there was a noticable absence of complaining, bitching, whining, "call your hits asshole" kinds of players.

While Irene and other ops in 2006 had way better AO's, more people, cooler props, etc, Night Scorpion (and Hac Bao III) were MORE FUN than were the other ops.  This is of course only MY opinion, but I did go to ALL of the John Lu ops in 2006 so I have a point of perspective to base my opinion on.

Its always the people that make a game better, not the AO.

Night Scorpion is a great way to pop your national op cherry before the size and chaos of what will be LC VI....

No, my only point was that I could go to LC, pay registration, drive, and camp, rather than pay registration, fly, hotel for Night Scorpion. I just don't want to drop a huge amount of dough on my first one.

Looking to go on this one, I'll just need to work it out with John Lu about the sponsor thing.  My 18th birthday is on March 17th, what luck.
