“Black Platoonâ€

On 10th March 2007, 0900 elements of Black Platoon and the rest of Hco, minus the “Strikers†element deployed to our DZ.
Upon arrival to the Dz, the Platoon leaders gave their final FRAGO’s and re-briefed there Platoons. Mission was as follows, for the first 30 minutes of the scenario, both Co’s are guarded with one squad of PSD’s â€Strikers†and the are to stay at the Company HQ. Once game was on, my black 3 element took point and lead us up and around the south side of the pond side AO. As Black three hit our objective, they were met my Golf company troops and the fight was on. Black two went down the embankment and pushed back the Gco troopers out of the wood line. My Black three went down the embankment and went down to the road, where they were told they were out of bounds, after adjusting their way point, they got into the fight. After an hour of pushing forward, we were losing men left and right. Gco gathered there troops and push our front. With a lot of my men KIA I stayed as long as I good and stating holding the line. My black two element was down to two members and they ambushed some of the advancing Gco troopers until finally getting KIA. Outstanding Job Black two for holding your ground with the overwhelming odds. After getting pushed back, we regrouped and held our lines at the “Alamoâ€. At this time Black 1 and Black 3 set their defensive positions. Black two came up with a battle plan to load up his Black two element on a Helo and get inserted into the Gco HQ. Upon getting their boots on the ground, Black two inserted into the opposing HQ’s and put up the Hco flag and defended their ground. Upon Black two’s radio transmission, I sent part of the “Strikers†element to support Black two, but they never linked up, but the “Strikers†engaged the enemy upon arrival to their Objective. Back on our end of the Battle field, we held the skirmish line with the Help of 2nd Platoon. Over the radio we heard it was “Endexâ€. After three hours the Scenario was over.
After our Lunch break, we received our orders and proceeded on with our next mission. The mission was to escort a village of refugees from the war torn Jungle to safety and establish another camp via tents, along with taking the refugees we had to hump out their “chicken†and “crying babiesâ€. Upon insertion to the LZ, Black three once again was on point. After humping around the AO for what seem to be an eternity, the platoon “finally†reached the Objective. We realized that we were given bad Intel by game control. There were fire fights in between but I was not their to witness any of them or was I their for them hitting the objective. I was down on the field with a fellow soldier who had a Major Heat Cat. Scenarios two and three were put together to make a VERY long hump around the AO.
2000hrs night game began, the objective was to have Hco Co evade Gco. Upon completion of this evolution our CO evaded capture.
Day 2
This was the reversal of scenario 2, Gco had to move the refugees and their “babies and Chickensâ€, Once we were boots on ground and the Black one and Black two elements were on the move. My black three element was attached to 2nd Platoon. Once moving through the wood line, Black two was on point and took us straight into the wood line and we made a b line to the airfield, which Black two made a decision that they would place there camp at that spot. Great call Black two. Upon crossing the river and reaching the crest of the hill, Black ones S/S team flanked the northeast corner of the airfield, and Black two’s S/S team flanked the northwest corner of the airfield. Both teams identified the refugees, tents, babies and chickens. At this time we linked back up with my black three element. I moved black 1 and 3 up over the crest, while black two stayed in the over position watching our 6. Upon cresting the hill you could clearly see the camp, at this time I lined up the moved on to airfield and put them in a skirmish line. I called in “Prairie Fire†on the command net, and had Black two blow his whistle so the command and 2nd platoon can get a fix on our position. Once we started moving forward, and suppressing and moving, 2nd Platoon crested over the hill and they lined up, filling the empty lines and we ROLLED over ALL of the defending Gco troopers. Once we got into the camp site, we tore down the camp and gathered the refugees, chickens, and babies after confirming with games control that we have the objectives, we killed those stupid chickens and crying babies. We set up a 360 defensive positions around the camp and waited for Gco to gather up their troops and do one last push. They gathered and tried and tried, but we held our lines. Game was over.
Overall I have to say I commanded an OUTSTANDING Platoon, no matter what I asked, they gave me 110 percent and then some. Hotel company as a whole was just INCREDIBLE, The motivation was always there, even though we humped an eternity, the bitching was kept to the bare minimum and the drive was on to accomplish the mission.
Hopefully next year I can be part of this great company and Lead you into battle again. Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen for everything, See you next year. MARCH OR DIE!
