Supposedly a re-make, but check out this trailer.

It had goosebumps down my spine.
This is something worth waiting for.

Wow, I need to see that.

There was a movie made with the name of "The 300 Spartans".  I own it.  Pretty old though.

I learned of this particular film when I was researching Thermopylae for a school research project.

If anyone is extremely interested in this story, I HIGHLY recommend picking up the book Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield.  Probably the best book I have ever read.

That's it.
Supposedly "300" takes place after the setting of "The 300 Spartans."

Yes.
Like a sequel almost.

Sorry, bad choice of words on my behalf.

I wouldn't assume a sequel.

Sequels tend to not exist when the "prequel" tells the whole story.  Maybe it tells more of the story in certain parts.  Maybe like Charles Henderson's Silent Warrior was to Marine Sniper.

"The 300 Spartans" was a let down for me.  I had read Gates of Fire and went into Best Buy and purchased the movie for like $10.  There was an intertwined love story that was stupid.  Seeing as how the movie was old, the fighting scenes were also disappointing.

But I gotcha man.

Yeah, its based on 300 by Frank Miller.  He also did Sin City (movie/graphic novel) and Batman: The Dark Knight series, graphic novel only, but Batman Begins borrowed many elements from it.

Frank Miller rocks, but he's no Alan Moore...

This movie better be as good as the trailer portrays it to be, cause it looks incredible!

I wasn't a big fan of UltraViolet either. Aeon Flux was okay, but nothing all that special.

Somehow, it seems this thread has turned into a comparison of action films with hot chicks as the protagonists, which 300 is definitely not. This movie should be awesome.

Pan's Labyrinth is supposed to be cool like most things GdT does, but I am not too sure if I want to see it. We'll see.
