Questions about Classic Army
« on: January 18, 2007, 04:46:44 PM »
Ok, folks, tax return time is upon us once more, and I am planning my first AEG purchase.  I am looking at a Classic Army M15A4.  My questions are as follows;

1) How difficult is it to rewire this AEG to use the Crane style stocks?

2) How can you adjust the velocity of these guns?  Do you just have to change out the spring?  Can this be done easily at the game site?  Ufortunately the velocity limits vary from game to game it seems so I need to be able to adjust this easily.

3) How difficult is it to change out the stock barrel for a precision barrel?

Please keep in mind I have never owned an AEG before.  Are there places in the valley that can do upgrades, or teach me how to do them.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I don't like the short barrel on the CQB though.  I carried an M4 in the Army for 3 years so its what I'm used to.  Thanks for the info though.

You can also go to Arizona Paintball Depot, they do upgrades there too if you bought the gun from them.

You could always do what I'm doing with my CQB- Put in an M4 length outer barrel and a tightbore.  The advantage of the CQB is that it is a better gear box than your regular CA M15A4.

That's a very good point.  There are also a lot of really well made free floating rail systems out there.

Another thing G&P makes some full length M4s with crane stocks, but these crane stocks are different from the CA one.

If you don't buy the CQBR, you will be unpleasantly surprised when you realize the CA SOPMOD stock isn't sold separately and you have to settle for the inferior, AA-celled, albeit to-scale G&P or Prime stocks.
