Accordingly, I will no longer be associated with the Marauders as it has become.

how about renting the area out and making down payments by charging entrance fees, field fees, and some other fee's.

I wish I had money to go to an airsoft game.  First I have to fix my truck, then pay off my $45,000 loan for 1 year of college, then I have to finish paying off my gun ($95 remaining)...

I love AA games.  They're FREE!

On a serious note, I don't understand the complaining on either side. It may be a bad idea, sure, but I'm not about to tell people how to spend their money. People spend $3000 on a computer just to play games on. I think they're insane, but, if they've earned the money, they've earned the right to spend it in any way that meets their fancy (legally, of course). People spend lots of money on cars, which I can't figure out. However, I'd give you $8,000 for a full-auto UZI if I had the cash. Its all about preferences and hobbies.

Furthermore, its a private business and they can charge whatever they want. I'm sure as heck not going to pay it. If the price is too much, interest will wane and they will be forced to go lower. Supply and demand.

In conclusion, I'm not defending anyone's position, just wondering why anyone cares if it doesn't directly affect them. I will admit, however, that bickering is rather entertaining, which I feel is why most of the older posters continue the topic. You younger guys take note ;) !

and treating us like **** is how u piss parents off

If you think for a second that anybody on this board cares about your parents, you are sorely, sorely mistaken. The second they enter the caring spectrum of this board is the second they take your ass off the computer.

Time to bust out the care train.

This is the funniest topic ever. Have fun playing with yourselves at your "big" games. I congratulate you. I really do. Sorry we annoyed you so much, us being the evil minors, destroyer of airsoft.

Oh yeah. See you at Lion Claws.

if you dont like the price you guys have your AA games...

You make it sound like our games are inferior to yours, it truly is a matter of what you prefer. Some people prefer games that are a sad half hearted attempt at making a play style between paintball, airsoft, and military simulation.

This new field you speak of $3,000 when it IS completed I don't believe I know anyone over the age of 21 willing to spend that kind of money to play in a 'state of the art' airsoft field. Most of them know what $3,000 can get them, and usually airsoft would not be on the top of that list. When I think of $3,000 for a annual pass what I think of is your CURRENT target audience. Rich, spoiled kids from Scottsdale that can beg their parents into buying them a mercedes if they want them to. One thing I am confused about if your current target audience IS 21+ why do you have so many minors on your team, minors that don't quite follow your 'target audience'?

Quote
Annual Passes are not $3K and will never be. The $3k price is planned for the future

Anyone else find those two lines in the same paragraph a little contradictory?

Truth is the way I see it Marauders airsoft has NO idea what they want to do right now, so what they did was have a meeting say Hey lets make some $ by making a really cool field! However instead of actually RESEARCHING people of your target audience to see if it COULD happen you just go ahead and go for it. Anyone who has taken a year in a University should know that there's a lot of work you have to do before you decide to do something. From what I've read it seems they were either
A) Too lazy to do that work, which would not speak well for their field.
Or
B) Just didn't think their plan through.

I also read Marauders is planning on this field being used as training for Police and Military, a true businessman would have contacted both w/ a business plan, and model for their facility. Instead of actually receiving money from THOSE institutions they instead force the cost of this project of theirs onto the current airsoft community.

Overall, this was very poorly planned on the Marauder's part. Personally, even if I was very wealthy. If I could easily spend $3,000 annually, I would NOT spend it through the Marauders, why would I spend $3,000 into something so poorly planned that could go out of business within a month.

*NOTE* Sorry for the long post. *NOTE*

Wow, this post really set off everybody. Certainly shows that the Marauders concept is in total disagreement with the rest of the Airsoft communnity. Clearly it started out as one thing and Doug and company signed up for it. But then the real purpose was out and here we are. Seems like the under 18 crowd feels disenfranchised from AA and views Marauders as the alternative. Don't understand that as we have a sponshorship mechanism for anyone under 18. They then have to earn their place and as we know from history several have done that successfully. Guess the majority of them don't want to have to go through an entry process and thus end up getting exploited. Too bad.

What makes you think anyone here cares whether or not they piss off your mommy and daddy?  Personally I think half the problem with kids today is that mommy and daddy don't teach them anything about being a good person.  You know, things like integrity, honor, courtesy, concern for others.  Kids today some how feel the world owes them everything, and they should get it immediately.
