Kyle,
I know a person here in Gilbert/Chandler area that owns a computerized mechine shop that
right now makes CP Barrels for paintball and those aluminum Yo Yo's you see
the stores.
I could hook you up with him and see what he could do everything for?

I seriously doubt that he can do it affordably, but I'm interested in finding as many sources as possible.  Let's keep those arrangements off the boards in the interest of space, but please email me if you think he's available, and thanks!

I'll soon have an M4 here which I can use for sizing against my drawings, so that will advance things "quite a little bit."  I'll keep the board informed!!

Legs....Have any idea as to when you are going to have one ready?
Cost? Could have another M4 for the kit.
Might use this on the Real Steal I have.

I would suggest that it only be used as a demo unit on a real steel gun.  Unless you want to kill yourself that is.

It wouldn't withstand real steel pressures, nor is it going to be mountable on the real stell recievers anyway.  It's built specifically around the Marui M4 lower and gearbox.
As for a time frame, it'll be a while.  In my line of work it's featst or famine, and just when I wanted to get rocking on this, I got several weeks of work lined up.

Ares SHRIKE Advanced Weapon System kits
« Reply #22 on: May 06, 2003, 02:34:03 PM »
I am finally in preproduction on these kits and will keep you all informed as progress goes forth.  It will be a drop-on kit compatible with the lowers from your M4 rifles.  The version I will offer is the "standard" style, with the modified M249 front handguards.  The entire upper reciever will be machined in the next month, and I will then mold it.  The kits will be cast resin, but reinforced with fiberglass and metal plates as appropriate.  The "M60-esque" heat shield will be metal.
Pricing per kit is yet to be determined, but will be released once the first prototype is finished.  AA members will recieve a discount, and one kit may be offered as a raffle piece for a future AA game.
Just a heads up to let you know what's coming.
