While doing a search not to long ago, I stumbled on a thread that had a link to PDF versions of Military Field Manuals.  I have tried to find it again, but I cannot.  Could someone point me to that thread again?  Thanks.  I did try the search function.

Some do and some don't.  I was able to download some that didn't ask for any authentication.
