Battery for CA M15A4 question.
« on: June 19, 2007, 07:25:42 PM »
Hey, I just want to make sure I don't screw up and get a battery that's too big for my CA M15A4 (It's the full size M16A4 variant)...

Will this work?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1

Any other recommendations would be appreciated, I am looking for something in more or less that price range, and the only upgrade I am going to have in the gun (for the foreseeable future at least) is a tightbore, so I'm pretty sure 9.6 will be sufficient.

Thanks...I know this is kind of a newbie question.[/url]

I think it will work, but you want to watch out buying things that seem 'to good to be true'. They usually are.
I bought a smart charger that cost over $50 alone. And two eight cell batteries cost around $100.
The quality of the materials used in the cells, and the quality of workmanship to build them would my main concern.

Ok...That is always understandable. But if I do buy batteries like this, do I risk damaging my gun in any way, or just getting a shitty charger and a couple batteries that won't last as long?

I don't mind having to replace them a little later, by then I will have money for better ones, I just don't want to get batteries that won't fit or will damage my gun.

Thanks for your help.

The charger could overheat and be a fire hazard or overcharge the batteries (which can also be a firehazard). I have had battery chargers that have caught on fire before.
The only damage the batteries may do to your gun is if the current is abnormally high it may melt your wires/connectors, or blow the fuse. Or, if they are very low power (power as the voltage times current and that they are incorrectly rated) you may have the problems that are associated with using a discharged battery in an AEG.
But that aside, you would most likely only experience shorter lifespans and/or lower quality assembly.

Thanks, but I solved this a while ago...I have the full rifle anyway, so the nun-chuck is not the way to go in this app.

I'd just like to point out that the All-Batteries batteries are really nice batteries, I run two 8.4v batteries that put out higher discharge rates then my 9.6v's.  One I use in my CA M14 the other I use on my M4, both pulling an M120 spring at very respectable RPS (14-15)  They are really nice batteries and for the price its well worth it.
