\"What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist.\"
The Marine shrugged and replied, \"Recoil.\"

Good luck man.  Don't let them tell you that its a kinder gentler basic.  I went in July of 2000 and it was pretty damn tough.  Start running now, and get used to being sweaty, hot, and dirty. What's your specific MOS 11b, 11c, 11m?  When I went I was signed up a an infantry recruit, and 2 months into it they told me I was an 11c, mortar infantryman.

that's wierd normally you haev to be at least 17 before siging.  didint take into account that he might still be in high school.  i dont kwno about making that decision that early on in life.  at least you haeva  whoel year to think it over and make sure it's what you want to do.

out of curiosity, why infantry?

I joined the Guard at 16 with parental consent in a delayed training program - basic after my Junior year and AIT after my senior year.

Good thing this is America and He can make his own damn decisions huh?

Good on ya my Brother Infantry.  I'm old but I'm still proud of my Blue.  Its a noble and honorable profession and don't let anyone tell you otherwise - and volunteer for jump school!!

Just some advice for you.  Start memorizing the Infantryman's Creed right now.  It will save you so much hell when you get to basic.
