German Loadout
« on: July 30, 2007, 10:35:43 PM »
Ok, so myself along with four other inviduals decided we would like to crete our own little team consisting of us five minors.  We also decided that we love the G36 and are all going to purchase variants of the CA36 (which I realize is an export model, but I'm really not willing to shell out over 150 dollars for the dual optics) and Desert Flecktarn.

Now, the problem is I have no idea what sort of vests/chest rigs the German Military would use let alone where to purchase them.

If anyone could help me out with pointing me into the right direction to look for Flecktarn and the more or less proper German Vest/Chest Rigs, it would be much appreciated.  I'm looking for cheaper items as we are all minors without jobs currently (like under $80 for BDU and under $200 for the Vest/Chest Rig).

Thanks! :D

P.S. I'm not going for a hardcore Milsim German Loadout, just the uniform, Vest/Chest Rig, and CA36 to give the team a German 'look'.

It will be difficult to do. You can not buy real German gear since the newer stuff is extremely expensive and rare. This includes Tropical Flecktarn(Wuestentarn) and IDZ vests(which are impossible to find real ones). You have to order those from Europe if you want the real deal which will be very very costly. Which puts you out of your 80$ cap, more so for you Vest budget.

I warn you, it will be used and Stateside to fit your budget. I have the full setup minus the G36(P90). If you are still interested I can give you the links to the sites and a picture of what the gear will look like. I think I have one somewhere.

Probably the first place you want to look.

Desert Flecktarn is known as Wustentarn.

You can probably find knock off gear in the pattern you want, because getting it authentic as Itachi said is going to be tough and expensive.

Flecktarn.UK is European.  Be very careful on exchange rates, for instance:

New Wuestentarn Shirt=25.00 GP=50.74 USD.

Not to mention shipping takes over a month and gets pricey very quickly. So you are spending way beyond your $80 on just the BDUs with no shipping included.

Try also looking on ebay, use google, etc.  You can also check out militaryphotos.net forums for some current pics of German troops, so you have an idea of what is actually used.

Definetely look elseware for your uniform, I for instance bought my Pants at JT and my Jackets at a surplus store online (costing me about 20 for the whole set).  I also ordered a cap from flecktarn.co.uk for about 15 dollars.

Now when it comes down to your vest, I have a bunch of extra flecktarn gear if you're interested.  I have 2 double G36 magazine pounches.   A small assortment of accessory pouches, all placed on a webbing set up.
