What about Frankenstein in Ai magazine?
« on: September 03, 2007, 07:39:01 PM »
Any of you following the Frankenstein build?  What do you think about it?
I'm curious about where they are getting their rpm from? The motor? The piston? And the ROF, that's not the same as rpm, correct? I also am curious about the MOSFET and whether any of you use that? I like the idea of what they are doing and maybe we'll have to tinker with one, I'm curious what you guys think about it?

I've been reading the last few issues and I've been following their Frankenstein gun project for at least that long.

It looks like a lot of work, since they're modding off the shelf items. I'm interested to see how it'll turn out. But for now it looks like they're just trying to spit our as much BBs as possible.

The last issue I read had them trying to achieve a shorter piston stroke so that they increase the ROF. Of course they had to sacrifice their FPS to do it. I'm just curious to see if they can balance superior ROF with a decent FPS. ROF is all well and good, but if I'm stuck with a stock spring, then forget it. Although for them, being in the UK, they probably couldn't field that thing with an M120 anyway.

The quietest move is the most efficient one.

Sorry Ganef, I don't know of any links...I picked up what issues I saw the store had in stock. I bought them at Arizona Paintball Depot. I hate to admit this but I can't figure out how to post pics let alone links...I'm not to saavy when it comes to the computer, I can get around but thats about all. Maybe one day...The magazine was Airsoft International, I'm not sure if they have a website...I'll have to look.

I would agree that it seems, to lose fps for rof is not gaining if you can't get out there!

I had seen some stuff on Arnie's about this some months back -- it seems like an unrealistic BB hose project.
