Looks interesting based on concept but I'd never airsoft for prizes, let alone cash prizes.  I can handle some fool ghosting on me on accident (shit happens) or even a few on purpose (some guys just have egos too big for their own good), but if material gains were on the line I'd probably hit them with a truck, then back over them a few times on principal alone.  Best of luck on this one, I'd love to hear an after action report on it.

well i see your worry with the setup, the money is more to draw a crowd than anything, plus entry is only 5 dollars a person, so if you lose its really not a big deal, the event is more for bringing the phoenix airsoft community together as a whole.

also your pessemistic attitude might be better served elsewhere, if you want to come to a fun event, be my guest, but if your trying to be mr. cool by bagging on my event, then piss off.

Buddy i respect your event it sounds interesting but dont bag on the Doc, he's been to more national competitions than anyone that i know, a person like that deserves respect. dont be a prick. If you have a real problem with him take it to the PMs.

While I certainly would like to say that National Op experience makes you a better player it doesnt necessarily.  Doc is a good player and a good guy but saying national op experience makes you an awesome player is lying (Not an insult to anyone with National Op Experience, I just fail to see why that would matter, you could say, he has been to alot more games then some people have ever been too, true statement and not a slap in the face to those of us who cant afford to attend one right now :P)

Sounds interesting, not my cup of tea though, i'll see if my team is interested, if so I may be down :)

No offense, I just see the wrong product for the crowd.  I would say this would work well with paintball. But maybe airsoft has a different mentality now? I could be wrong....But I will say it goes against my grain.

you guys better have a bunch of field marshalls to keep an eye on hits.
a deathmatch for cash honestly sounds kinda fun. but like I said I wouldn't leave it up to players to count their hits. gotta have refs out there to do that for them.

Airsoft is just a tool.  How you decide to use that tool is up to you.

ok maybe i took offense a little too quickly, but im sure that none of the events everyone has been to will be quite like this one, and i plan to have a player from every team as a ref, so we will have hopefully 15-20 people watching every players every move, which makes it hard to cheat, but not impossible.

Word.  Seriously though this sounds like fun to me, being a break from the mil sim aspect (love the mil sim and role playing aspect of the force but sometimes I also like to just hose someone down with hi caps for giggles), if I wasnt so wrapped up with a trip to Sedona this weekend it certainly would have been on my radar, if for anything to meet some more new faces.  I just wanted to choice my concern about the cash prizes being a potential catalyst to conflict on the field (not the good kind either), and ask you to post an after action review when it was wrapped up.

Best of Luck!
