Yeah, and Operation : Red Dagger is not an AA sanctioned or sponsored event.

Here, let me tell you what to read.

Read the COC for this particular OP at their website which is listed in the original post, and then read everything on the last page.

Its basic physics.

In this type AA is using one standard weight. By making the weight universal its easier to determine what someone's joule rating is. If you were to shot a .12 round the fps would be higher due to the light weight but the joules remain the same. Take the reverse

(in reference to the 1j .2g 328fps from my previous)
1=.00006x^2
16666=X^2
426fps

Thats still 1j of energy.


Also I fixed my signs in the previous. I got a C cause I'm sign inept.

Also this isn't a AA event so those rules don't apply.

Sorry go off on a tangent here guys, but when we compensate for the difference in elevation, how much would that effect our fps using .25g BBs?

At BH I seem to remember chronoing well under the limit with my 249 SAW using the same Killer Bees spring I used at LCVI. This time I'm thinking about slapping in a PDI 150% spring and hoping that it will come maybe 15-20fps under the limit.

JFGI if you're having a hard time understanding how muzzle velocity (FPS) and muzzle energy (Joules) are different.

I know by now Vince is having a coronary.....sooo.

You can use .2g, .25g, .3g bbs.  That's not the issue.  What is the issue is that the max FPS for a sniper rifle is 500 FPS using a baseline of shooting over a chrony with .2g bbs.  Chrony your gun shooting .2g bbs and tune it down to 500fps then it will be allowed to use in the game.  Now fill the mag with your .3g bbs and have fun.  That's it.  End of story.

Finally got the green light from HH6 to attend this but noticed the sign up form asks about desired position....is that for if you want something 'other' than rifleman?  I posted a question on the forums there and will wait til I get an answer before signing up.  :)

this the same Camp Navajo that holds Summer Leadership
schools for the local ROTC programs?

 Or within the proximity? I remember that was quite a long
drive in a bus, Trans AM though.. no problema!

Event update:

The snow pushed back ALL Training at Camp Navajo. Not just our event but the National Guard training calendar as well. We are working with the National Guard to get the dates nailed down firm and tomorrow should have the dates locked down ( Monday, March 24th ). What this means is that regualr Army and National Guard units that train at Camp Navajo are being squeezed into a tighter training period and we will most likely be conducting operations, eating in the DFAC with other units so let's everyone keep it professional.

 Next Update. The Hind has been taking forever but should at least be on the water soon. It will not be operational in time for the event but even if it was, it would take a major amount of money just to operate it. Fuel burn rate is 240 gallons per hour. Camp Navajo is approximately 126 miles from the Chandler airport. I do not have external fuel tanks for it so for those of you that can look up the stats on the internet for the MI-24 you can get a ballpark figure of how much it would cost to operate. I think Jet A ( the fuel type ) is almost $5 per gallon now so you will see me standing by the on ramp to the freeway holding up cardboard signs: need $$$ for helicopter fuel. Go ahead and throw in for maintenance as well and the $20K bill for transportation to our front door here.

It is being shipped in two containers. The tail has been removed for transport so it can fit in an open top container and all the rest of the parts are going in the closed container. If anyone is feeling generous and would like to donate a bazillion dollars to this project it would be much appreciated. Also, we will be having a MI-24 BBQ and every single one of you is invited. I'll post the dates when it gets here.
