Got any deals on ACOG's?
« on: November 30, 2007, 04:07:12 PM »
You guys know of any places that run deals on ACOG's?  I'm looking for the TA31RCO-M4CP.  I found it for $1,233 with a LaRue QD mount at skdtac.com, which right now seems like my best bet.  If any of you guys know of a place to get it cheaper, let me know.

The popular military/firearm/tactical forums sometimes have great deals on used glass for sale by forum members.

I've seen a TA01NSN with Docter sight and LT mount go for 800 shipped.  (I missed out on that one by mere minutes!)

Of course, buyer beware if you don't know who you're buying from.

Yeah, that's why I wasn't really looking at used ones.  If I'm spending $800-900 anyways I would rather spend a few hundred more and just get a new one.

Best I can come up with, is what I did. I went to shooters vault on 32st & Greenway, and opened up one of their store credit cards. First three months 0% intrest. So I paid it off in three months.

Meh, don't want a credit card though....  I can already get it at a discount locally, I was just hoping for something better.

I just have a quick question. One please tell me you are putting this ACOG on a real Firearm. Two if not why would you put it on a Airsoft weapon that's pointless.

Yes, hence the reason I posted it in real firearms.  That's not to say I won't use it on my airsoft guns, but it is being purchased for use on real steel.

I dunno, 4x magnification is handy on an airsoft rifle.

If I had an an ACOG, I would put it on an airsoft rifle.

I have an Aimpoint CompML3 on my AEG.

^^

Yeah, but the particular model I am looking at would be overkill for airsoft.  That is what I assumed he meant.  The bullet drop wouldn't give you anything on an airsoft gun, you would be better off with a standard ACOG.

I dunno Cpl, I have a replica ACOG on my AEG and find it very useful.  It did after all help me shoot you in the foot at Mesa Armory  :P
Besides I am at the third tier of my airsoft development where I now get my team/platoon/group to do the killing for me

Well.. One I am a dueche for not seeing it was under real fire arms section.  Are you military is that why you want one.. thats the only reason I can see for owning a ACOG Or being on a special forces (SWAT).  At least thats my opinion for owning a ACOG

Then you dont understand why you need good optics on a fire arm.

The longer and more clearly you can see, the more accurate you'll be.

Cant shoot 1/2 moa at 200 yards if your optics arent up to it.

What does being in the military or a "special forces" unit have to due with owning arguably one of the best optics for the AR platform? Any shooter from professional to casual desert plinkers can benefit from good glass on their gat. I'm just a lowly civilian and I can think of many good reasons to get one in the near future, but then again, I'm not a douche. :D

see that your location is Ft Stewart, you must be a soft skill and not get to fire rounds down range much.:D

The ACOG is not only for LEO or Military, if you have an AR platform like was said earlier it is one of the best IMHO, if your an avid shooter you want a good site so you can actually it your target all the time on or around the same place.
