yea i stay in my Marpat for the games, and wear my lonely chevron. on my collar and my flak, pack as well actually. the only time you would have to worry if for some odd reason someone of higher up would just so happen to find you.....which will not happen, and i'm pretty sure they won't care if that.

The issue uniform is 50/50 NyCo.  The Propper brand ones are 65/35 poly-cotton.  Also the Propper ones are in the ACU cut.  There are MCCUU cut replicas but those are in a 60/40 cotton-poly fabric.  Those don't have the EGA anywhere on them AFAIK.

Side by side against Laserracer's set there isnt much difference in coloration, and the change in fabric is a lot nicer than other replicas which is why I chose Propper's :)  They are really nice and can hardly be distinguished unless you have some overly anal people checking to make sure its the right cut and fabric :P  Works for me :)  Finding real stuff in Large Long pants and XL Long tops is very difficult for a reasonable price.  The closest to reasonable I've goten on Ebay is about 60 bucks for the bottoms and they didnt have the tops =

Its comes down to personal preference.  I hate 65/35 poly/cotton blend fabric, and prefer the MCCUU cut over the ACU cut.  Its the little things in the differences that make it a bigger deal for me.

I know the real issue digitals with the EGA aren't for sale to anyone other then Marine's, with a vaild ID, on post or through the Navy Exchange website.

I also know alot of Marines overseas loathed civilian contractors wearing digital's improperly, out of standard, or just being so grossly overweight that it made the Marine Corps look bad.

But with out further clarrification who knows whats the lastest.

naw I bought mine in CA at G.I. Joe's in oceanside and I'm a civvie. the store in El Cajon sells the stuff too.
they sell used surplus Propper Desert MARPAT with nametape and sand in the pockets and new Propper Desert MARPAT. its all in the MCCUU cut with the EGA in the pattern and they have the black, red and gold embroidered "made expressively for the USMC" EGA tags on the inside. the blouses have the big embroidered EGA on the lower front too (which I'm going to get covered up with a little MARPAT patch eventually).
whats funny about the new stuff they sell tho is that I think they're defects or something because the contract # on the tag is marked out with black marker. it just means a couple stitches were off and they were found not to be up to snuff. just fine for airsoft tho.
I wear that stuff not to look like a Marine but instead because it has the best color and fade resistance and its built the best out of any of the Tru-Spec stuff and other crap out there.

yes, they are sold in stores, theres a place here in VA beach that sells them, but they arent supposed to be available, or sold.
the place im talking about gets them from other marines who come in and sell them.

We stole the Eagle from the Air Force, the Anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the 7th day, while God rested, we overran his perimeter and stole the Globe, and we\'ve been running the show ever since.

You can wear what ever you want. I would say the culture here prefers that you do not wear anything you have not earn, but since it is your uniform and you earned the ranks and so on it is yours to wear.

Oh man.. I can't believe that place came up on Airsoft Arizona.

They make most of the AZ surplus places look clean and high speed. I've bought a few little things there, but they're the reason I shop online. You'd think there would be better surplus stores around SD. $16 for a roll of OD 100mph tape, wtf?

I suggest you alter your thinking process. No one is going to think you're extra cool for getting a set of authentic MCCUU. Not only that, but when you think of it from a practical point of view you're going to end up spending a lot of money trying to replace them due to regular wear and tear.

yeah those places were never anything special...
I remember when I came back to Tucson and walked into Miller's and saw all the Multicam and the whole wall of BDU's they had in stock and almost did a cartwheel. I hadn't set foot in that place in about 10 years so I was really surprised to see all that stuff. the last time I was there they didn't have that whole other room full of surplus stuff open.
The places in SD never had anything like that... and its supposed to be a military town ;)
