:!: Just a word in case nobody seems to know. SASCO is now off-limits to airsofting and paintballing. The Sheriffs department will give you tickets and or take you to jail. thought you should know.

Kiley is working on all of you questions. but as it would seem right now the Sheriffs department had given unintentionally bad information. SASCO is not located on the type of land he had assumed it had been on with this information and some additional information it would appear that SASCO may not be off limits after all

Some airsofters from Aries Raiders had some issues in November  with a Pinal county deputy telling them it was state trust land and they needed to leave as reported here:

http://tucsoncoalition.com/modules.php? ... pic&t=1768

At that time the TAC board asked TAC players and affiliated orgs to stay clear of the area until the matter could be looked into.  That request was lifted early this year allowing folks to return to the area under their own judgment, when proof was surfaced showing that the land the ruins sits on is in fact private property owned by a development company, also as seen in the above thread.

I've reached out to the county sheriff to clarify that unincorporated land that is not state trust and is not posted as 'no trespassing' is still fine to play on, if I get word back that indicates otherwise I'll be sure to let everyone know.

That all said, this game is still on and set for SASCO at the end of the month.

just curious what reason would it be off limits? what law is being broken that they would have the right to arrest you.

I have also called the substation for Pinal county 2 times and no one has ever answered my question to why if no one (onwers) have made a complaint why they (police) would be there 'patroling' , glad I wasn't trying to report a crime out there.

I was just there about two weeks ago hunting the land next door, and it is state trust, the land the ruins is on is private, not posted other than the sign that said not to leave behind your shotgun shells. As in real guns, folks hunt dove, quail, and coyote there. I do!

I also spoke to the state trust land office and they said we can play on state trust land as long as we get the PERMIT TO BE THERE FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES, if you have a hunting license then you do not need a permit, being the smart ass that I am , if ever asked I would show them my small game licnese and tell them we are hunting each other.
