3 months ago there was no real steel in your house, and now you have 8??!! Dude, you are on a serious impulse buying spree!!

I'll watch one of your AR's so they won't breed anymore. I'm sure John will watch one for youas well. [:P]

Mine don't multiply in the closet, but I only own MALES!!!
It's a very fun hobby if you can afford it, and the funny thing is that it's harder for me to afford the bulk ammo to feed them than it is to afford buying the guns themselves. It's that mental block of "what's going to be left over after the money is spent", I guess. Ammo leaves only a wonderful aroma after it's gone. At least the guns stay around.
Nice growing collection Jason. You'll have to come out to the next FAL shoot. I know you are close to ben Avery but we have a great desert spot and you can shoot with greater variety there.

Kyle, we all knew you were good, but that is amazing!!! I, for one, cannot tell a male AR from a female, And I have been handling them since the early 1980's when my dad bought what is now called an SP1 (The very first civilian version of the AR15). And I have owned 3 (well, technically 4, but the 4th one was illegal as heck, and I tore it apart and sold it before I got caught with it[;)])

What kind of license or ownership approval is needed for silencers Paco? I thought I heard you needed class III ownership approval, but I could have been misinformed.

That one is a dummy supressor Wolf. A real supressor needs to be licensed by the ATF and you have to pay the $200 transfer tax on it just like a machinegun. You also need to get local approval just like buying a machine gun. Supressors are reletivly cheap though and can be purchase for a couple hundred dollars or so.

On ARs it is harder to tell since most of them are girls, but if you look really hard, past the grit in the gas tube, you can sometimes makes out the tiny little protrusion...
Here's irony for you, lads... If I get the job with the Border Patrol I'll be defending my life with an M4. Gotta get my digs in early because of it.

I'll put you through Harley's AR/M16 indoctrination school Leg's. You'll be field stripping and assembling like it's nobody's business.

Currently they do carry DAO Berettas but they are in the process of adopting a new handgun...probably the USP .40.
I don't need coaching in breaking them down and cleaning them...I need coaching in trusting them!! I love, and I mean LOVE, everything about the AR-15 except its FTF, etc. ratio.

You could always request to carry your M14, or even probably pull one out of the armory perhaps?

Maybe I'll buy you a hypnosis session to get over your fear of FTF's.

I dunno... If I were border patrol, I don't think I'd want to haul around a heavy M14/M1A all day. I'd go with the M4/AR-15 over it.

Kyle, do they issue semi-auto AR's, or is it an M4 with 3rd burst or full-auto capablities? Just curious.

It's a full on M4, Jason. And I'd much rather have a .308 than a .223 for open range desert shootouts. Weight is an issue, I agree, but so is knock down power at longer range. I'd feel much safer with an M1A out there.
Alas, 'tis not my call to make. I just hope that they do side with the HK USP instead of the Glock. Both are being considered as the new sidearm...

Just keep the M14 in the trunk of your car just in case... [;)]
