This Marine needs HELP!
« on: April 24, 2008, 01:50:44 PM »
well if you didn't know i'm in the Marine Corps Reserves.  So on the 4th and 5th of May i have an inspection and i just so happen to be missing some items.  Does anyone know where i would be able to find some uniform parts last minute, such as a Service barracks cover. ega's, lcpl chevrons for my utility's etc?

I've been summoned! Stock is bad on uniform items everywhere right now(Damn you Vanguard!). I have most of that stuff in stock though.
For specific items, call us at 623-435-2640. What I don't have, I can usually track down. Let me know if I can help.

isnt there a MCAS in Yuma with a clothing sales store?

I know Luke AFB clothing sales has some USMC items but I didn't look very closely.  There is a USMC unit on base now so might be a decent selection.

yea but living in Tempe makes Yuma a kinda long drive, plus i don't like Yuma at all to many bullshit times down there for me. And from what i have heard Luke isn't very Marine Friendly when it comes to uniform parts.

Anyway thanks everyone for the help lets hope i can get the stuff before its too late

I wouldn't count on Vanguard if it's important. I placed an order with them over 2 weeks ago, and still haven't received it. When I called to check on it, I was informed that it was "lost", but would "be in the mail today". The order previous to that was about 60% complete. Having dealt with Vanguard for over a decade now, you'd figure they would treat us a little better.

This is not typical behavior of Vanguard. They USED TO BE a good company to deal with. I'm not trying to spread bad rumors about them.
Just giving you a heads up not to rely on them if it's important. Sorry about the rant.

I do believe that Larada's and Freedom Surplus would be the closest stores to you that might carry these items.

I agree with you about Vanguard for regular orders.  I have had my share of lost orders with them.  Howeverm anytime I needed a uniform item 'right now' and called their order desk for an overnight shipment I have always recieved it when they said it would be there.

I'm sure by now its moot for this Marine who has most certainly unfucked his shit and squared himself away though.... lol

Freedom Surplus, or something like that.  Its where Laredo's used to be, just a few miles down the road right next to a R/V dealer.
