Cadet Second Lieutenant Ziolko Reporting In
« on: June 09, 2008, 01:15:36 PM »
My name is Zachary Ziolko but everyone calls me Z or Asian Invasion. Im semi-new to airsoft, ive played it off and on for quite a while but just with some backyard buddies. We are looking to expand and start getting a little more competitive. Our team is gonna be military based obviously. Ranks, possibly awards, and uniforms. We already have 4 AEG guys and me as sniper. (I do better with bolt action) We still need a team name and we are all gonna go buy some either Desert BDUs or some ACUs. We also still need to decide leadership positions of the team like Commander, Squad Leaders, Fire Team Leaders, and we need to decide officers for positions such as Operations, Personel, and recruiters. If you have any interest let me know either on here or in a PM.

Welcome.

Drop the BS about ranks and awards, because unless you earn them in the real army you do nothing but disgrace and make yourself look like an ass.

At the end of the day, this is airsoft.

The more serious you take it, the less serious people are going to take you.

Just get some buddies together, enjoy your time together, get a cool patch, and have fun.

I concur, just play and have fun. You don't need to get that into it, and if you want to thats what the real military is for.

Not to mention that the Code of whatever Cadet Program you are in would dictate that you clearly identify the program so as to avoid any misunderstandings and keep you from being subject to the provisions of the Stolen Valor Act.

For example, C/2LT (JrRotc), or C/2LT (ROTC) or C/2LT (CAP)

Fix it cadet.

Welcome to the boards.

If you want rank and awards, join the military.  It's alot of fun.

Play airsoft because running around shooting people with BB guns is a good time.

You could combine the two, but it's not the best idea.  That, and non-military people will make fun of you, and there is no greater insult than to be called a poser, BY a poser.

If you're in a program, that's great, just keep it for the meetings.

hey is that Marine Mec stationed here in Phoenix? and if so what is his name i may know that devil. And Welcome.  Also i would drop the ranks as everyone else stated, it causes problems, and you never earned them mind you. you have no idea how much standing by you have to do to earn at least E3! it took 4 years of BS Army JROTC to get to E2 in the Corps.

Well Cadet, remember that outside of your JrRotc sandbox no one gives a rattfuck what "rank" follows the word "cadet."  I did some snooping and it seems that even your own cadet corps at SHS thinks that you are all about rank and ribbons.  I'm guessing you will do very well in the military but its not like I would know ...

More importantly, Cadet, your JrRotc does NOT make you a service member and you are simply a civilian with some goofy ass patches.  Just be aware that there ARE service members here and not everyone is as nice as me.

So I'm awarding you your first airsoft ribbon...   its the GFY ribbon awarded for superior and unphased poserdom.

Here ya go    =D>

So welcome to the boards...  Too bad we wont be seeing you at any national ops for a while....

You know... I almost feel sorry for the guy... But it was too much fun reading Doc's post for me to get that far.

Another quality post, Doc.

Wow, im not trying to be a poser, just trying to make it a better experience and you should just accept that. As an American it is my right to do whatever I please as it is yours. So I suppose you can continue to be assholes but it is really uncalled for. Also, I am aware that it is hard work to earn rank in the military and im not suggesting that we are equal to the real military, but as it brings order to the real military im hoping it will work for us too. I dont see what you all are getting so upset about. Redeem yourselfs as gentlemen and drop it.

Of all the things I have been called, gentleman is not among them.

Listen kid, I'll be nice - you are not the first wannabe to come along here and want rank and ribbons and commanders and all that jazz....  and you wont be the last.  In fact in a few years no one here will even remember who you were.  What I am saying is its not YOU so don't take it personally.  Its the general concept of the PX Soldier that you are bringing into our house.

Make up your fantasy football airsoft team and assign everyone to be a goddamn colonel if you want.  Whatever... but when you look and act like an asshat here with the grown ups you are going to be called an asshat.

But if I ever see you wearing something you didnt earn you can expect to have a nice clean cut hole in your fabulicious "uniform" where the offending insignia used to be.

But then you are not even allowed to play where I play so its not likely we will ever meet.

See, you might have had a chance if you would have STFU and listened to those who have been there and done that.

By the way, learn how to iron... your AfJrROTC uniform looks like shittt....

You know Ziolko, I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt. You are young, full of ideas and I was going  pass over your post and not comment. But now I see you belong to a gay hating group on myspace that you aren't even old enough to join. With that, I lost all respect for you.
Keep preaching that tolerance for others that you don't have yourself.

It isn't your right as an american to do whatever you please. Some South Americans can't do whatever they please, some Central Americans can't do whatever they please. It might be your right as an United States citizen, but not as an american. Unless you think the United States of America is the only country in the Americas.

well i'll be a little nicer to you, due to the fact i used to think your way. anyway, a ranking system in airsoft would do the opposite of building order, for several reasons.  1. fighting over who gets what 2. most don't have the discipline to follow those orders. 3. someone will find the higher up "wrong" and go on OFP. Look i'm only a lance coolie but i don't want to see people running around with ranks on thinking it's all ok.  and one of the things that gets me the most is, uniforms worn incorrectly, and if you have an EGA that you did not earn. Granted i dont mind if a family member gave it to you, but don't be wearing it around trying to act the part of a Marine. i went through a lot of BS to earn mine, as do airmen, soldiers, and sailors.
