In case anyone forgot, I'm an Army National Guard Recruiter, if the Guard isn't your cup of tea I can put you in an 11X option Active Duty Army. Oh and these days you graduate BCT with 2 real Army ribbons.

Anyway I would advice you not to act like the typical J-Rotcz dork. Way to many real world combat vets here. And all the above "gents" that replied to you are some of the senior people or real world service members on this board.

Trust me, if you had any of the respect for the military you claim to have for your hero's you wouldn't act like a posser.

I have been a part of this forum for around a week therefore i dont know what regulates, as Doc said being "an asshat". There would have been nicer ways than just critisism. Also, to Giland, i joined that group in 7th grade when i didnt know any better and the only reason I did was because my friend was the Admin. You guys seriously need to lighten up and stop trying to call me out on my past and shit. I did nothing to you and I will never do anything against you. Sure you can get your kicks picking on a 16 year old kid but dont you have better things to do than make fun of me and my ideas? C'mon, Ive been told that a lot of you are retired or active military and im future military. I would think you would have a little more respect for me than to use petty little insults. By the way "Doc", my uniform does not look like shit unless ive been out all day at an event or trip or something, I get 95 or 100% on all my inspections and have never gotten below an 80 which was during my first week as a freshman. So how about you "STFU", I believe YOU are the "asshat"

Wow, im not trying to be a poser, just trying to make it a better experience and you should just accept that. As an American it is my right to do whatever I please as it is yours. So I suppose you can continue to be assholes but it is really uncalled for. .

Okay dude. Your American right to do whatever you please does not exist. The United States is the best country in the history of the world when it comes to personal freedoms. Basically put, you can do much of what you want as long as it does not harm someone else or their property. As you are evidently young, I would like to try to give you some advice that you will probably not heed. LISTEN to your elders or to those who have more experience. If you approach someone with an earnest intent to learn from them, and a bit of humility and/or humor can aid this, they will more than likely be willing to help you out.

These guys on this forum are reacting to how you portrayed yourself, which was adversarial. You also will find that military guys can be quite touchy when it comes to having what they earned besmirched. They were trying to tell you that the idea of creating ranks and awards based on the military for the game of airsoft would take value away from those awards. These folks have given part of their lives to make sure this country is what it is today with those rights and freedoms we have. Shouldn't we [non-military or "civilians"] honor what they have done for us and not piss them off by imitating them in a way they do not wish to be imitated?

My two cents for what is worth.

Chillax, everybody.

Zoilko, you're more than welcome on our boards, but let's not forget that we're all typing here.

If I were you,  I'd take everything said in this thread as constructive criticism, type less, read more, and show up to a game or other event to voice your squabbles.

This Zoilko guy is JUST like a real 2lt. He thinks that hes the bee's knees, and people give a shit about what he thinks.

I've given up on discouraging wear of rank and awards, becuase reguardless of how much complaining I, or others may do, they are still going to "pose" as they want becuase there are no reprocussions, that are worth anyones time. By adding rank, and structure, you aren't increasing the experience, just irritating military personel like myself, and several other members(former .mil and civilians) of this board, by calling yourself something you aren't. Nobody really gives a flying fuck how you did on your inspections, either. Reguardless of your "scores", your uniform still probably looked like shit, becuase lets face it, it isn't the real military, and you aren't going to scuffed up for being dicked up.Now do some fucking pushups.

Like azsarge said, show up to games. Get the feel for real airsoft without using rank and structure(if you decide after a long while of playing you want to start an official team or whatever, thats up to you, I'll still make fun of you). I think you'll have alot more fun just having fun, instead of trying to make airsoft an "experience".

I've too gave with civilians and children wearing real rank, funny though they never wanna dress up and pretend to be PFC or SPC, its always MSG rank firmly in place on a childs "uniform", and a tower of power, in the wrong order.

I do prefer if civilians and children really need to sew or velcro some kinda "rank" to thier "uniform" they use the JROTC/ROTC stuff, in fact it should just be an unwritten rule that rank is cool as long as its JROTC turned upside down.  :D then theres no possery.

But as everyone said, just show up to some games forget the nonsence. Tactical milsim airsoft isn't as easy as drill downs, and color guard. You should focus your efforts on getting a good AEG, some good gear and a radio. much more important then fighting a loosing battle on the internet. Or pissing off the Soldiers you might be working for someday.

Like I said, you could have simply stated that it may not be smart to use some of my ideas instead of blowing up on me and flipping a bitch.

Welcome.

Drop the BS about ranks and awards, because unless you earn them in the real army you do nothing but disgrace and make yourself look like an ass.
Quote from: "Vince"
At the end of the day, this is airsoft.

The more serious you take it, the less serious people are going to take you.

Just get some buddies together, enjoy your time together, get a cool patch, and have fun.
Quote from: "The Flying Dutchman"
I concur, just play and have fun. You don't need to get that into it, and if you want to thats what the real military is for.
Quote from: "azsarge"
Welcome to the boards.

If you want rank and awards, join the military.  It's alot of fun.

Play airsoft because running around shooting people with BB guns is a good time.

You could combine the two, but it's not the best idea.  That, and non-military people will make fun of you, and there is no greater insult than to be called a poser, BY a poser.

If you're in a program, that's great, just keep it for the meetings.

This is everybody stating that it may not be smart to use some of your ideas.

Quote from: "Ziolko"
Well, we have a Marine mechanic and an Army MP plus im going army and the others are also going to enter the service so thats why we want the military stuff and thanks for your oppinions but I dont think i will take them. For the person that was asking about my cadet program, it is Air Force JROTC im gonna trasfer to an Army unit though were I believe I will be recieving Cadet Sergeant Major.

This is you stating that you will instead be an asshat, thereby opening yourself up to attack.
The very title of your thread was inviting comments, but it was ignored until you started acting the fool.

okay, i'm done, signing off
