Lets hope this leads to a near-miss Darwin Award rather than legislation.

Look at the responses. The raging Dems are calling for ban on all guns. Others are blaming officer for not being able to tell the difference between the replica and a real fire arm.

It it wasn't for the few intelligent people dragging society behind them we would be doomed.

Too bad stupidity can't be deemed illegal.

First, the police need to be sued. You can't just shoot someone without knowing exactly what type of gun they have.

No.  First the police have the right to protect themselves above alleged criminals, thats why they carry firearms.  If somebody is pointing a cap gun at the officer and he can't tell that it isn't a real one, he can shoot.  He isn't just going to say "Hey can I take a look at that," if some teenager is pointing a hand gun at him (remember the Columbine massacre?).
Why are some people just so stupid?

Second, this is why all guns need to be outlawed. Guns kill people!!! What don't you redneck idiots understand??? Anyone who owns a gun is simply a caveman and a pig.

Fortunately this country is a country of Rule of Law, not Rule of Majority.

The law that allows us to defend ourselves cannot be legislated away, thanks to the State and US Constitution.

All the bitching and noisemaking is just that - bitching and noisemaking.  Its not the first kid shot by a cop.  This crap has been happening since guns came out.  Guess what - we still have our guns!

It does make for good press however because it invokes such an emotional response from the uneducated, self indignant, sheep of society.  But like I said its not like they can take any of our rights away.

Pointing an airsoft gun at another person is agg. assault and in Arizona you CAN shoot that person and its presumed reasonable unless the DA proves beyond all reasonable doubt that it wasn't reasonable.

If the story tells all the facts its a good shoot.  Of course the City will be sued, and unfortunately the CIty will probably settle rather than litigate but I would never take this kid and his family as clients.

Tahe ALL the guns away from everyone in the entire world ?  OK, I'll bite.  Assuming it COULD be done, I'd carry a knife, staff, rock, something with which to choke your fukking neck, whatever - I'd still be armed equally with the rest of the world.  We would be in the same place.

If people were taught about guns and hunting and being grown ups as they are raised they wouldn't be so goddam afraid of guns and maybe we would have more bad guys shot up leading to less bad guys.

Good job to a good LEO.  I'm sure he feels like crap for being forced to shoot a kid.

Best use of a 1337th post I've ever seen Doc,
I'm gonna go a little off topic here, but...
Why do shootings never take place in shooting ranges/police departments?
Because everyone has guns and the shooter knows it.
Why do shootings always take place in schools/malls?
Because the shooter knows no one has a gun.

I wish they'd allow students (college) to conceal carry... and have at least two armed cops on campus.
I always thought it was funny how at my school the only member of the staff allowed to have a gun was the school cop.
If someone REALLY wanted to go columbine on my school, it would be SO easy.
The school itself is HALF A MILE LONG and A QUARTER OF A MILE WIDE and there's one cop there.
Not to mention the hallways are unnecessarily intricate and there's an almost equally large basement and an attic.
I would be so screwed if a couple of emos decided to go apeshit on us with daddies guns.   :(

Watching the news last night. Saw the mom all mad about why is her boy in the hospital with a bullet in him. She says it was just a BB gun and that he didnt even point it at the officer.

I dont know what happened, I wasnt there, but Im sure mama is taking her innocent little angle's side.

Damn straight.  The only problem I see in this whole thing is that the mother shouldn't be complaining about her son in the hospital with a hole in him, she should be complaining about her son in the morgue with 2 holes in him.  Cop must be out of practice.
