HELP! gun not working
« on: June 18, 2008, 01:20:57 PM »
Okay so here's what's happening.

I just got a Well R8 G3 SAS in the mail yesterday. Everything was working great. Then the magazine got jammed from crappy bbs so I worked on that. Then my brother set the battery in the charger for the night and left it until morning. Now when he goes to shoot it, it makes no sound whatsoever. No clicking or anything. So I'm guessing he messed up the battery because we didnt shoot it a ton and he charged it for around 10 hours. Or the fuse is messed up.

What do you guys think it could be?

Also I took it to an airsoft store and he agreed it might be a fuse, and that he'd check if I brought it to him. So I'm either gonna do that or return it to the site. Although I'd rather bring it to the guy if it is just one of those two problems.

it sounds to me like it may be a fuse, but does it have a light on the charger if so does it light up when you plug it in?
the fuse is most likely in the battery compartment you should be able to get to it fairly easy. but only do it if you are COMFORTABLE doing so.

Well it's my brothers gun and he charged it. Although I'm pretty sure a light went on into the charger.

And I'm not to comfortable doing it myself, only because I just started getting into all of this. However the guy at the airsoft store said if I bring it in he could help me find out.

So either it's the battery or the fuse thats messed up I'm pretty sure. But this is the first electric gun I've had so I don't know much about it.

If you have NO idea how to diagnose the problem, have it looked at before returning it.  If you have it inspected, at least you'll know WHAT'S wrong with it, instead of returning it, just to find out that you blew a 20 cent fuse.  It could be one of a LOT of different issues that would stop your gun from functioning: fuse, motor leads, battery, trigger contacts, wire short, etc.  I don't know of a place that wouldn't at least inspect the basic external problems for free; just make sure you bring everything with you.  Hope that helps.

+ is red - is balck

ok to check your battery get a light from radio shack or a voltage tester. Touch the + and - to the battery and see if it lights or has power.

Getto way get a paper clip bend it to make a U then touch one end to the + then softly touch to - SEE IF SPARKS IF IT DOES TAKE IT OFF!!

if you get a spark or light its the fuse and your battery is good!  :D all you need is a fuse

if you dont your battery is bad  [smilie=armata_pdt_31.gif] you may need both

also was your battery VERRY HOT!! to the point that it burns you hand! and is there any melted plasic if so you need a new fuse and batt

I helped this guy in person 5 months ago, and got the problem taken care of.  Please check dates before posting.  Input doesn't do anything here; if people have a current problem with their gun, they're not going to go searching for answers in a thread that's titled "help! gun not working".  I promise.
