i think he should do whatever he wants, we don't want to force him to buy or do something he doesn't want, but a little guidance is good, he should upgrade it till he is happy with the performance and stick with it. but i agree that his next gun should be a TM or CA, i find them to be the best out of the box, Ca has nice fps, TM has a pleasing rof, its for him to decide. sorry if i sounded a little pushy there 8-[

Don't worry about sounding too pushy. I appreciate the advice and I'm learning a lot. I am currently looking into good CA guns to buy for my next gun. I most likely will get an MP5, still not sure yet though.

Well if you're getting an MP-5, you might as well get a TM because the CA is plastic anyway.  TM's internals are also a little higher quality and they take to upgrades nicely.

CA MP 5's are plastic? I thought the sportline guns were the only plastic CA's. (again, very new to AEG's)

The real MP-5 is mostly plastic so an airsoft one will be too (just like with G-36s, P90s, UMPs, AUGs, and some sniper rifles).  Although CA probably has better externals, they're still plastic and not that much better.

The CA MP-5 is about half metal. The stock, fore grip and lower are plastic. Here is more info than you probably ever wanted to know about the MP5.

The only upgrades that are practical on E1's out of the box are a tightbore and a higher voltage battery. Use the biggest 9.6 you can fit in the gun, your RoF will be fine. Get a tightbore barrel to replace the 6.0toobig that comes with the gun, and after that don't replace anything unless it breaks. When you get a better gun, the TB and battery will be able to switch over, and the E1 gearbox doesn't need any parts replaced to make it "good"

If I do end up getting an MP5, it will have a full stock. This is simply based on the looks.

that shouldn't be based on looks, it gives you more accuracy and a feel of stability, but yeah good choice :P

Good to know  :)  So far I've only held one MP5 and it belonged to an APD employee. It had a full stock and I liked the feel and the looks, so i figured I'd stick with that. If anyone has an opinion on what the best stock for an MP5 is, please speak up.

Thanks, I most likely will go with CA. So far I have met a few people who own CA MP5's and they are very happy with them.
