Looking for a new gun...

I'm looking for a decent gun for under $225 and shoots about 350-370fps with a .20 bb. Any suggestions?

I have been looking at the "what should I get topics" and none of them answered my question because the limit is at like $100 instead of $225 but thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Yeah just ask one of them what is a good gun, for your price range for starting a CA sportline M4 wouldnt be bad, do a few upgrades and it could be good

Glad you took it so well, haha. I'll make a suggestion then. TSD/SRC's AK's and G36's seem to be decent enough.

A few questions,

What type of role do you find yourself playing often? ie, rifleman, support gunner, 203 gunner etc.

What type of frame are you interested in?

What kind of battles will you primarilly be playing?

Answer these and I could probably help a bit.

Rifleman, M16/M4 type frame, MIL-SIM and some CQB(but I'm getting a different gun for CQB)..

I wouldn't spend all of your money on just the gun, you might want to get mags for it too.  So if you're going that route, get a sportline or ECHO m16/m4 and spend the rest on mags.  As for brand It is up to you, I prefer CA, some Prefer TM, some prefer ECHO so on and so forth.  If your friends have one or someone you know does, use theirs a few times see how you like it, try different brands and models see how you like em.

If however you want to spend all that money on one gun, then get a full metal AEG for a little more.  Same as above use the product before you buy it.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask more Qs

I was thinking either the echo1 M4 carbine with a multicam set, or the M4 RIS with solid stock

I would suggest multicam over a solid stock. I have a set, and I love it. I'll probably use it more over my planned Russian kit. The stuff is amazing. I myself bought it because I was unfortunate enough to have it used against me whilst I was wearing solid dark blue  [smilie=armata_pdt_04.gif]

Unless I misunderstood you and you can get either gun with multicam.

Just got to try out one of the new TSD G36's, they are very well built externally, and has a good range out of the box. Haven't seen how it lasts in the long run, but should definetly be something to consider. Considering it sells for about $200-210 (Depending on C and K versions), you could use the extra cash to invest in a magwell converter. Hope this helps.

I have owned Echo1 and used WELL and SRC and all that...and none of these crappy clones can replace a good AEG.

Be a man and save your money. When you have a decent amount buy something worthwhile.

G&P or Classic Army for M16/M4 style.

Classic Army or Tokyo Marui for M14 and MP5 style.

Yes, these brands can be expensive, however there are much more expensive options. It is well worth the money to get something that is built solid and typically lasts longer.
