Im making an airsoft team...
« on: August 25, 2008, 01:18:08 AM »
well, ive decided to see if i can get a team together. i live in Yuma, AZ, so play areas would have to be somewhat close to me. being on this team, you are encouraged to play as often as we try and play, but not required. play when you want to, and can make it. no worries there, as i work too. in addition, i will be deploying in january, so i would need a replacement until i return.
onto the rules:

GOLDEN RULE: expect to see very professional execution and style of play on this team. though those who join may not be Marines, you will be given the responsibility of one, and expected to act professionally. you will not embarrass your unit. in addition, you will be taught hand signals, and tactics before playing. this team would be USMC based, but individualism will be encouraged. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE "TRAINED" IN BASIC WARFIGHTING, INCLUDING RADIO USAGE, BEFORE JOINING. we all must function as a unit, as must therefore have similar training, including comms.
#1: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 17. NO EXCEPTIONS. you must also be able to push yourself to the limit, and keep up with the pack. since we will be operating as a unit, we are only as strong as our weakest man, only as fast as our slowest.
#2: GEAR. you must have 1 tan and 1 green uniform. can be MARPAT or a flightsuit. but you must have 1 tan and 1 green. Real USMC MARPAT is OK to wear, and encouraged over replica, even if you are not a Marine, with only the nametape and no US MARINES tape.
authorized uniforms:

Woodland MARPAT
Sage/OD Flightsuit

Desert MARPAT
Tan Flightsuit

belt should be a TAN riggers belt or web belt, unless you have earned higher. we will blouse our trousers with boot bands at all times. no tuckng them into your boots trash.
gear should be in Coyote Brown or Woodland. ALL other camo patterns and colors of pouches are allowed, but your gear should have one of these colors as a base. basically, it needs to be passable as realistic Marine gear. if we are all wearing very good looking, accurate kits, and one guy is wearing all multicam... that wont fly.
some sort of armor carrier is required. you cannot wear just an LBV. the rig you wear must be of a realistic type seen today by US Marines in the dirt... a plate carrier, or soft/hard armor carrier.
SOME examples:
Interceptor OTV
Spartan
CIRAS
FSBE
MBSS
EPC
and many more... but generally similar to the above. if you arent sure, dont hesitate to pm me!
also, you should have some sort of helmet AND boonie, for different weather. i highly advise having 2 sets of goggles.
do not wear anything that you have not earned. this includes rank, unit patches, martial arts belts, branch tapes, etc.

#3: WEAPONS. weapon must be of the USMC armory. SOME examples:
M4, M4A1, M16A2, M16A4, M249, M240G, M14 DMR, SR25, MK12, M40
i may consider another type of weapon for certain circumstances. realistic weapons for the current times are highly encouraged. NO HICAPS AT ALL. PERIOD. any other type of mag is allowed, but no winding mags, UNLESS you have a support weapon.

#4: PATCH. team patch will be the gadsen flag, or US Navy jack. this must be worn on your rig somewhere.
it can be found on csmgear.com, as well as many sites. this is REQUIRED.
#5: ORGANIZATION. im not sure on how many plan on joining, but im thinking that 1 squad of 13 would be a good base. there will be 3 fireteams of 4, and then a squad leader. each fireteam will have some restrictions, such as 1 SAW gunner, 1 DM, etc.
basic look im trying to get:

potential roster so far (none are definate)

NAME---------------ROLE/SECONDARY ROLE--------------LOCATION
Me----------------------grenadier/support--------------------yuma
"duston hendrickson"-----rifleman---------------------------yuma
Guage-----------------rifleman/grenadier-------------------chandler
Yammie---------------rifleman/grenadier-------------------chandler
flashcompany---------Anti-Armor/Support------------------gilbert
"andrew owens"-------------rifleman-------------------------gilbert
thatoneguy------------------support--------------------------tuscon

well, i believe thats it for now. let me know who's in for this.
ALL MEMBERS: PLEASE SEND ME A PM WITH A PICTURE OF YOUR RIFLE AND GEAR WHEN YOU ARE 100% COMPLETE SO I CAN REVIEW IT AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE GOOD TO GO. PLEASE MAKE THE TITLE OF THE PM "TEAM PICTURE"
IN ADDITION, PLEASE PM ME WITH ALL INFO I DO NOT HAVE ABOVE, SO I CAN HAVE THE ROSTER UPDATED. INCLUDE REQUESTED ROLE AND WHO YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ON YOUR FIRETEAM

We stole the Eagle from the Air Force, the Anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the 7th day, while God rested, we overran his perimeter and stole the Globe, and we\'ve been running the show ever since.

Gents,

I just want to put out to my fellow Devil Dogs in the Yuma area. At the very least you guys can stay at my Armory in Tempe.

Otherwise my wife is pretty cool about Marines (and Guardsmen) staying at my house in the spare room. Just be ready to drink.

Joe can you get me a tan flightsuit m/r?

i can work with any potential join-ees to help them find 1 tan and 1 green uniform, but im pretty sure i can only get marpat here. flightsuits are somewhat hard to come by. best bet would be a ebay search of CWU-27/P
-Joe
p.s. im also selling some USMC gear including some pouches, a issue sling and buttstock magazine pouch, and a camelbak. buying them would not only help you get what you need, but it would get me some cash!
