Raiders of the Dead Man's Chest December 27
« on: October 20, 2008, 11:12:08 AM »
The story so far…

In the winter of 2002, the country of Algeria has been torn apart by a ten year civil war.  More than 150,000 people have died in the country as the government fights Islamic extremists.

Disregarding US State department advisories, an American team of archeologists has entered Algeria and begun research at a previously undiscovered Roman ruin.

The archeological team has discovered evidence of an ancient artifact that may possess supernatural powers.  However, before the secrets of this treasure could be revealed, the team of archeologists were captured by members of the Armed Islamic Group who are part of the civil war.

A private military company, Dark Water USA has been contracted to extract the hostages.  Military intelligence agencies from the US have offered sizeable rewards for extraction of any archeological finds of importance.

Will you discover the secret of the DEAD MAN’S CHEST?

Thanks for the questions.

MTT events authorize players 12 - 14 with parental supervision.

FPS limits for the Urban Assault Course is 375 FPS with .25 bb's with all weapons.

High capacity (winding) magazines are discouraged for most players.  However, MTT Staff often make an exception for new players or players who don't have additional magazines.

Visit www.Marauders.us for more information about the rules at the Urban Assault Course.

All participants (or parents or legal guardians) must complete a waiver at MTT Events.  The waivers along with payment info, game schedule and rules are emailed out upon request.  Send an email with your name, age, and telephone number to MTTStaff@gmail.com to receive these documents.

For questions about a specific weapon or magazines, please send a PM or email to the above email.

PM sent in response to the Thompson.

Thanks again for the interest in the game.

Capt. Jack Sparrow, Islamic Extremists from Algeria, Indiana Jones and his magical artifacts, and a civil war in Africa?  It's like the Fox News Channel had babies with Pop Culture.

I may have to come out to see this spectacle.  I might even preregister if the person who decides to be Jack Sparrow dresses up in a goofy pirate costume, and I get to shoot the silly guy.

Where is this arranged chaos taking place?

The event does mix some of the best elements from the Indiana Jones and Pirates movies.  Our company actually held this game at our old field in 2006.  We had about 75 players in attendance at the first event.  The majority of the players who registered initially thought the same thing about Jack Sparrow.  By the end of the day, most of the players were surprised by how well the story line and character interaction unfolded.

The current game has been modified to use the environment of our new field, the Urban Assault Course.  The last Raiders game was set on the island of St. Vincent in the Caribbean.  Since, the Urban Assault Course is designed to reflect battlefields in the Middle East, Africa, and Central America, the game was modified to take place during the Algerian Civil War and integrate a theme of Pirates of the Barbary Coast which sailed the seas in North Africa during the 16th and 17th centuries.

If anyone really wants to see a pic of the last Captain Sparrow, send an email to MTTStaff@gmail.com

Registration is now open.

Thanks for the interest in the game.

In addition to the discounted price of $40 for registering before or on December 8, players who register early will also receive two raffle tickets at the event instead of just one.

Event info and mission profiles will start being sent out after December 8 to registered players.

Have any questions about the event?  Send an email to MTTStaff@gmail.com
