You all have very valid points as to why you disallow minors from attending your games.  I respect and can understand what you are saying.  It truly is sad that the poor behaved, rude, selfish, and down-right self centered minors have to ruin it for those who are responsible, capable of following rules, as well as being good team players.  This happens everywhere, unfortunately.  Same thing with paintball and many other sports/activities.  It sickens me when I am frowned upon and barred from doing what I enjoy doing merely because the teenage stereotype comes into play. Also, please refrain from calling my posts regarding finding a field "whining."  I am doing no such thing.  I simply asked if anyone was familiar with any fields that allowed minors. Don't get me wrong, this is not an argument to let me or any other minors play.  I am just expressing my point of view on this issue.  You have every right to allow whoever you want to these games.  I am not about to go and sue you just to let me in.

This topic has been pretty well explained by Ganef, Vince, and Doc. But to really understand thier points you have to put your own wants aside and you gotta look at it from the long time members view's. Theyve worked hard to get Airsoft where it is now in this state, and theyve been through Im sure many conversations just like this one, and have been burned, set back and frustrated due to trusting the wrong people. My point is that the senior members[for lack of a better term off the top of my head] are being careful with who they allow into thier circle if you will, and I dont blame them one bit. Theyve earned it, we new-comers havent, we just take advantage of what they have already built, and some of us abuse it, mainly the kids, and its about time alot of the newcomers[including myself] earn thier place in this community instead of thinking that its owed to them. And to sonjamichelle, Im sure your boy is a great kid and is very respectable, and Im sure he has earned his place in the texas airsoft community and is respected there, I dont doubt that for one minute and Im sure alot of the other guys dont either, but this isnt texas, and if he really wants to airsoft, do as doc says and try and find some kids that are at the same level as your son, and if thats hard, so be it, he will have to earn his place here just like the rest of us need to, and working hard for something can only make him a better person and appreciate it more once hes achived it, as Im sure you already know.

As always I give the invitation for somebody to correct me if Im wrong.

I don't even know where to start.

1- There are a lot of airsofters here, some post on the forums and others don't. There are also many different groups or 'cliques' and many don't participate with each other, and it's for a variety of different reasons. Some guys don't want to trek out into the desert, some like to keep it near their neighborhood. Some people might not get along, some people just like to keep to their circle of friends. We're also divided by 90 miles of I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson. So it's not like everyone on this board that's over 18+ is part of some large group and we all show up at regularly scheduled games.

2- Some people don't want to play with minors. Minors are a legal liability, and in many cases lack the maturity to stand side-by-side with adults in competitive activities. People have their preference, and for all of the reasons it's probably easier just to say only 18+. But don't get me wrong, I'd love to have the kids around only for the fact that more people make for a better time in my opinion (i like big games, some don't).

3- As Doc said it, this is just a poster board for airsofting in Arizona. People use it to BS about things, buy/sell/trade items, maybe form groups and units, schedule some minor skirmishes, coordinate for going to larger events, etc...

4- In the end this is some guy from Texas complaining about a community where he's never even met a single person, upset that adults don't want to be inclusive with his 12 year old child. I'd love to make everyone happy and think AA is the bomb, but the expectations in this case are ridiculous enough to brush off.

5- I could've been a bit harsher... but tis the season...
