Ive been reading up on these recently and have seen some pretty bad horror stories of peoples batteries lighting on fire or ruining the inside of their gun!
Are using these things actually that dangerous or are these encounters with Lipoly batteries not that common?

They're incredibly dangerous. Stay away.

Its too complicated for me I was just wondering whether or not they were that dangerous to use.
If it really only takes of person with "average itelligence" then why doesnt about 70% of airsofters not use these things?

And to the other guy: Yeah yet another reason Im a little scared to use this battery for. The almost unnecessary ROF tears up the insides of the gun after a while.  But I have a G&P CQBR. Do you think the internals in there are strong enough?

It fairly new to people it seems.  I can tell you this though, more and more people are running them.  Also you dont have to use 11.1 lipos, a 7.4 lipo will give you close to the same rof as a 9.6 nicad.

It only wears parts down faster due to the increased rof. Its common sense.  if your piston is going to bust on you at 20k rounds, well it will hit 20k allot fast due to the increased rof.  (btw I was just throwing out a random number)

Just stay away, I dont think you can handle it right now.  Wait until you can come play with everyone else and then you can see for yourself.

I love them for the almost instant trigger response, especially in semi.

Here's a useful question, do you use hicaps? Do you practice fire control (3 round bursts) or do you rock and roll?

If you're the type who's being sensible about how they fire it won't be a problem. Hell my Star M14 SOPMOD has a PLASTIC gearbox and I haven't had a problem with the Lipo I use because I'm  not a trigger whore.

I think it would be ok nick, you dont seem to lay down on the trigger. You bought the gun from someone on here I suspect, if it came with a lipo, obviously he was using it with the gun..... send me a pm if you need any help

I\'ve touched that gun with my hand which had touched my penis. I hope you did not touch your mouth after touching that gun. That would mean your had put part of my penis in your mouth.

It also puts a lot more stress on your tappet plate and your piston's teeth (more so in semi-auto fire).

get a "GOOD" balancing charger, a 7.4v battery and a LIPO SACK. If you worried about your house, charge it on the driveway........

this is what I have and I love it!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/Red-B6-2-6S-Li-Po-B ... 1|294%3A50

(Just turn the beeper off. Its FREAKING loud)

I can show you how to use it if needed.   You will also need to source an old laptop power supply, I think a Dell power supply is what I am using.
