I'd never buy an Echo 1 over a Marui, let alone if the Marui is cheaper.

Great idea? Yes

Overpriced? Hecks yeah

It's a good idea, but I'd much rather pick up a G&G MP5 if I was in the market for an MP5.  For that kind of money, I'd buy a KWA G36 and swap gearboxes into my SRC.  Then I'd have 20 bucks left over :D

OK so you go and buy the Marui......You want it to shoot 400 so you buy the spring, break it open, re-shim it, put it back together. How long does it take? Now you want to play it in a CQB match but it's too hot. So lets break it down again and undo everything you just did. How long does that take? Are you sure you have it shimmed right????

I count my time as money. If I don't have the time to do it I have to pay to get it done.

Or you buy the TM and another "complete lower" how much does that cost? I'm sure if it's used you will go ahead and open it up and check it out. Again time and money.... If you have the parts, Knowledge and time.......then OK. If not how much will it cost?

I for one like the idea of spending 2 min and changing out to the GB of my choice. Do I do it often???? HELL YES I DO. That’s why I love my G3's. If I want to play my SBD at AZCQB then I change out my lower in about a min and I'm done.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's for everyone but I LOVE the idea. I have one load out that covers of all my guns. Why not have one gun to cover all of your load out?
Plus if you’re in the field and your gun dies you have a backup that you can carry in your pocket or your pack.

Last point, when was the last time you saw a TM MP5 “RAS” for under $300.00??? I’m looking now and I don’t see one. Ehobbyasia 302.00 + shipping, Trinity 337.00 + shipping and Precision Airsoft 319.00 + shipping…….. Now go and price a second NEW lower. Thats what about 120.00 + shipping for an ICS. So now your 285.00 + shipping (Gotta be equal) is now at least 420.00 + shipping (on 2 items).

All of this stuff is subjective. Bottom line, if you like it, it will work for you and it’s in your price range then buy it. I know many people that have Echo guns, including my son. We like them and have never had an issue with them. We have 2 TM’s (G3 SAS, G3 SBD), a CA (M41), an Echo 1 (M4) and a Cybergun (MP40).

I think Ron at GB has your MP5 if you want to look at one up close. If I was still running my MP5 load out I would have one.

I'd most likely leave the Marui stock,, but if I did upgrade it, I'd leave it at 330 FPS.  I only go to CQBAZ for CQB and 330 works for outdoor environments, so it would fit the bill.  Also, in my opinion, the RAS models are ugly and heavy.

actually online the G&G one is cheaper, enough to pay for your shipping and more with the price difference, and has a solid stock, which allows large type batteries, defeating the purpose of a peq2 box, but if you were using this for cqb, i suppose the other version of the G&P is better, but that is my opinion, i opted for the solid stock, being that it is not likely i will get into a cqb game anytime soon.

toky mauri is very good but echo1 is the best of all the brands with a few extra goodies (enforced gears) and i've shot and fired many guns but i'd have to say echo1 takes the bate  :D/

Considering all E1 does is rebrand guns with some qc, while TM has been around forever and considered one of the highend brand. Im gonna agree with I slap fat kids. TMs are far greater then E1. E1 is good for what it is, but in my book, isnt better the E1.

I would buy a TM or CA over an echo-1 anyday, not that Echo 1 arent good guns, and thier quality has increased my experiences with TM and CA have been top notch.

Sorry mate, both my echo 1's have outlasted my CA G36, and both out shoot my friends Tm sig552. (Stock, but still twice what I payed) In my opinion I believe Echo 1 to be a much better deal for the price then either CA OR TM. I will always buy Echo 1 and always support them. And god I love the Echo 1 boxes so much more then CA or Tm, no shimming needed (usually) Nice insides stock (minus some 3$ plastic bushings on the older ones) and smooth. Plus it is the best of both worlds. My Echo 1 M16A4 had a TM copy outer shell with reinforced parts, and a full metal gearbox with CA or CA copy gears. It was incredible, both that gun, and the M4 have been with me the longest, have never died on me, and require only routine maintenance. The only gun that could ever came close to touching this was a sportline CA mp5, which was in the running, from my perspective, until the frame completely shattered due to a routine drop. (However all said, it was dropped on the mag, but my Echo 1's have as well, and no shattering yet...) Which is another reason to support metal Mp5 bodies  :D
PS: Polie my man, what brand is your saw?

meh most of the body is still a&k, but thats where it ends.  everything else is non-stock, except for the bearings those are still are stock.

I just prefer tm and ics over everything, including echo1 for stock guns.  Once you crack the gearbox it no longer matters who makes it, its custom after that.
