CA M15A4 Problems
« on: March 24, 2009, 05:52:37 PM »
My M15 is having so issues. I tried to install a 110 spring recently and it wouldnt turn it over. So we put a stronger 9.6 in it and it still wouldnt turn it over. Any ideas on the problems?

So just to clarify, the gears move, but they just don't finish the cycle?  Or are you getting no noise at all?  It's an M110 spring right?

I'll start with the obvious, make sure your fuse isn't blown and your batteries are fully charged.

If you reshimmed your gearbox, check and make sure your shimming isn't the issue. (you should be shimming with the case closed and the screws in and tightened)

That's all I can think of right now.  Hope this helps

The motor might be the problem.

Most likely isn't the problem, but try adjusting your motor height.  Are you willing to open up the gearbox and give it a reshim?

It is most likely the motor/bad electrical connection if the shimming/motor height isn't the issue.  Is the gun fairly new?

I have tried motor height and it didnt work either and the gun is only a year old. And it came shooting 190 fps stock which is why i want an upgraded spring in it.

Pull the motor out of the gun and wire it back up pull the trigger and see if the motor spins............. This will help to determin the issue. If it spins look at your shim job it could be too tight (mechanical issue). If it doesn't spin look at the electrical. Do you have access to VOM and know how to use it? Use it to see if your getting voltage to the motor.

At the moment my uneducated guess would be shim job.

Is 190 a typo?  If it came at 190 with .2s, you have a major compression issue.  I suggest you pick up some teflon tape for the cylinder head and a #14 O ring.  (Ace/home depot)

Just out of curiosity. Do you still have the warrenty on the gun? That could fix all of you problems.

I was thinking that too, but since he put a new spring in, it probably voided warranty.

Isn't that still kinda low for a CA?  Shouldn't it be around 280-300?  Did you see if there is a leak in the cylinder head?

As mentioned, did you check to see if the motor spins when outside of the gearbox?   Again, I would check your shimming.

Check to see if all the gears are meshing properly, but that's a tough problem on your hands :-k

Maby you put the anti-reverse lach in backwards or the wrong way?
