ICS L85A1
« on: May 18, 2009, 12:03:47 PM »
I have an ICS L85A1. I would like to make it more accurate. I tried to look for a tight bore barrel, but i have had no luck finding one.If anyone could help me out let me know.

Thanks

Damn gun was $350 and the fire spreads like crazy.

Do you know the lenght of the barrel thats in it right now?

-EDIT

I looked it up and your gun has a 509mm inner barrel. I think thats a pretty common length so Its likelly that a lot of companies have tightbores that will work in your gun.

I heard a guy talking about it and he was saying that it had to be custom or what not. I am not sure how true that is.

Thanks for your response though

Just to make sure you don't spend unnecessary money; what brand of bb's were you using?

Hmm, there shouldn't be anything wrong with those, but just to be sure, try something else like Excel or G&G, or Madbull before you invest in a new barrel.

Thanks I'll be sure to try those other BBS. However I use the same bbs on my Scar and that one is really accurate compared to my L85 and my scar only cost me $140 LOL

It could also be an issue with the hopup. Maybe the bucking is damaged?

It's a proprietary barrel.  Can you be more specific what kind of performance issues you are having?  What spring setting is it on and what weight are you using?  How many rounds have you put through it?  Have you lubed the hopup?

The issue that I am having is that when i am shooting it the bbs go all over the place. On Semi auto it works decently. Although it still has spread. I know the BBS will have some spread regardless, but compared to my other guns this one is kinda bad.

I am currently using .25g bbs. I have probably put around 5000 rounds through it.

The spring setting is on the 3rd setting, being the highest of the 3 settings.

That's about it. If you need more info let me know

I'm looking for something more specific than "bb's go all over the place".  That's a very relative term.  What kind of groups are you talking about at like 75'?

Groupings of 60' at 75'? You'd be better off without a barrel!

Be more specific, what is the diameter of the spread of a measured number of bb's on a flat target at a range of 75'?

For instance; 15 G&G .20g bb's, on full auto, @ 400 FPS, outside, little to no wind, range of 50', and a spread of 4" in diameter (yes, that was from my P-90). Or, "about 30 rounds at about 75' and a spread of about 3' with TSD .25g bb's.
