Indor airsoft arena

I am looking into opening a indor arena in the valley with the help from some others. But before I can proceed further in my plan, i need to do a survey on weather i could produce enough income to keep me goin.

Also how much would you be willing to pay as an entrance fee?(answer this in a post)

I live in Queen Creek, if its within a 30min drive and I can pay an annual fee or monthly fee then i would gladly go a few times a month. If its like 20 bucks each time, I could only go about once a month

For me, the further south, the more likely I'd go. We've only got one place to do any CQB that I know of in Tucson, and I think it might be fun to get a taste of clearing corners...

I guess I'd pay $10 for a night of playing. $15-20 is a bit steep for me when I can get a good field game going for free.

Just a friendly heads up...if you're looking to start a venture like this, you might want to make an effort to use a spelleng chekker.. :lol: People will take you more seriously.

You are not going get reliable information with a poll like this. Besides the issue of asking the internet the type of field is going make a differences, its location, how large, what the "terrain" will be and so on.

The main thing i would want is a good arena, and people. I would have no problem paying $20 for a day of playing if there were a lot of people there and you ran good games. There would have to be somethigng unique that your arena would bring. No offence to CQBAZ, but i got bored after an hour of playing, it just seemed to small and repetative.

But like Kobo said, your not going to get an acurate buisness survey on a fourm, Mainly becuase you have no infromation of what your plan is. where do you plan to be located, what does the arena plan to look like, rules, price, store hours, ect, ect,

i agree with fat santa. it wouldnt be to hard to get an outside game going and if the field your planning on making is going to be pretty small i cant justify paying to much to get in. on the other hand if the arena is large enough to actually use things other then gas pistols perhaps with more then one story then i can justify paying 20$ a day.

Casa Grande would be the Best place. it will attract people from Tucson and Pheonix. Living in Tucson atm and being a Tucsonian, i personally dont like spending 10 dollars worth of gas for the trek to pheonix. tucson has groups of airsofters that do not have a readily available indoor arena.

Casa grande is half way. Red Rock land is also Very cheap but that is a little further south and literally in the middle of the desert.

Casa grande has been quite built up. and what ever aint indian reservation can be bought. just my two cents. you would  have more of a showing if you spread it out between the 2 airsoft participating towns.

I would love to see more airsoft arenas here in the valley.  However I think there are definitely some things to think about:

Location:

This is purely a business decision.  Wal-Mart spends billions of dollars every year just doing research on demographics and figuring the placement of new stores.  It's my personal opinion that with an airsoft arena you're going to need a cater to your surrounding area.  Some people will drive an hour to get there, but most of your return business will be from locals.  

While airsoft isn't the the #1 sport of airzona this forum is a testament that it IS of interest here.  Also seeing other arenas in the county helps because they're advertising the sport in your area and getting the word out.  (Also it's nice to see that they aren't going out of business.)

Price:

This is the one complaint I have with CQB.  Most people who are interested in airsoft really enjoy airsofting... often.  Stupid comment to have to make but it's true.  If you offer a membership program in congruence with a one-time-fee program I think you could really clean up.  It's easier to pay the bills when you know for a 100% fact that money will be rolling in at the beginning of the month.

I think offering a membership plan (ex. $30 / month) could also dramatically improve refreshment sales.  If you have hardcore airsofters showing up everyday instead of just once a month they are going to be buying a lot more food and drink.

Insurance:

Honestly I thought insurance companies didn't offer insurance for airsoft fields.  I know with the popularity of paintball it's become possible but I thought airsoft hadn't been addressed yet.  Something to think about anyways.

After thinking about it like that, I really have to agree with Halestorm. If Disruptive Paintball offered a monthly membership I'd probably buy that and play like crazy for the month I had it. As it is , I have a hard time justifying paying a fee every time I want to play there, so I don't go at all. Monthly/annual memberships are definitely the way to go.

TBH this thread is all crap because none of this general demographic has any idea of the actual business status of this hobby is.  Talk to the people that run the businesses already in place and get the idea, not grab ideas from people off a forum that have no idea what goes into actually running a business.
