You aren't mature as you think you are.

Instead of bs'ing on here and whining like the children you are.
Ask yourself this question.
Why can I not vote/drink/drive/etc?
You will find the same reason you shouldn't be playing with replica firearms is the exact same reason why your not allowed to do all those other "fun" things.

Well, they don't play at AA games because we don't want to hang out with kids.  It's got nothing to do with voting or buying porn.

I don't know of anyone in my circle that's scared of getting sued for airsoft-related legal incidents, we just don't find it enjoyable to engage in conversation with teenagers.

There are exceptions, of course, and that's where you get your long-time players from.  Guys like HavHav, that used to piss me off when they dragged my M9 through the dirt when they were 16 (sorry to keep bringing it up, dude  :P ) but have since grown up, served their country, and are a contributing member to this forum with more to add than aimless posts.

Same with Firehead.  He used to play at the Airsoft Addicts games, because he wasn't old enough to play at AA games.  He never bitched and moaned.  He waited for his time and took the Oath to serve his country.  Then, he went over to Afghanistan to shoot bad guys in the face.

Guys like Greg, that started out playing airsoft, and is now about to graduate college and be one of the finest Commissioned Officers in the U.S. Army.

I'm sick and tired of you kids bitching about not being able to play at 18+ games.  Do you complain about not being able to vote, or being able to serve your country?  THOSE are the important things in life, not some fuckin' BB gun game.

So, there is nothing wrong with minors.  Everyone's a kid at one point.  We fuck up, then we learn from it.  We wait for things to be available to us while we grow.  Let the same apply to your hobbies.

his point is to be patient, the point is for them to stop complaining about how they can't play with 18+ adults but they will never complain about more important things that can greatly influence their future and contribute to society, from what I've read anyway.

Don't go there.

I was giving examples of KIDS that actually turned out to be great people.  One day, I hope I can say the same for you.

sethb7290 gets it.

Just saying that's how it comes across, I know what you really meant. It's the best I can hope for, that we all turn out great in our own ways.

On a constructive note, why aren't there any youth leagues? Aside from the benefit of having them available to make fun of, it would get some of the minors out there off of the empty lots, out of the backyards, and into an official and monitored playing field. Would it not be better to have 17 and under games every now and then at places like Fighter Town or CQB, than have them in the eyes of the uninformed and 911-savvy public? That way they don't get in the way of the big boys, nor they don't spoil the sport for the rest of us by attracting bad media. People complain about both, but the former tends to lead to the latter. Ignoring them and telling them to wait their turn like a good little boy may work with a few people, but those who don't listen exist as a very viable threat to the hobby that can't be addressed through such demands. They'll play whether we like it or not, it would be much wiser to have them playing on our terms.

I love that, but I fail to see the point. Just like everyone else entirely missed mine.

If you fail to see the point, you need to read this forum more than you post.

You want more????

And you wonder why we are sick and tired of hearing about this??

If you want to form your own minor league then go ahead, but this site will not help you, because of the general feeling of it's members and the legal issues by it's admins. Go out and make friends with the minors you want to play with and go out and play, we are only stopping you from coming to the games that we(adults) put on. Take ideas from this site, rules, game ideas, feedback, etc... and go out and have fun. The minors that are doing this are not going to bother with flapping their gums for the umptienth time about how minors can't go to larger games. They have taken the initiative to do their own thing and don't yak about it.

It is not our job to hold your hand in the matter.

You wonder why you keep hearing about it? My guess would be because it's not being properly addressed. Sure, it's being addressed in some ways, but there are always improvements to be made. I'm just suggesting a solution to a problem, it's the best I can do with my resources and time.

if i'm not mistaken there are two or three places in az to go if you are under age.. you should take this idea to them, that is their demographic of choice after all.

The issue is being addressed but the solutions that are given are not the ones that the minors want to hear.

Issues:
Why not allow under 18 at larger AA and other team sponsored events?
What opportunities are there for minors to play airsoft in a safe and structured environment?

Answers:
The age restrictions are up to the individual organizers and not up to discussion, moaning about it is not effective.

The marauders airsoft field allows minors to pay to play. There are infinite options available to younger players who take the time and responsibility to run their own events.

it's the best I can do with my resources and time.
That is the problem, your only solution is to tell us to form a minor league for you. That hits on the crux of the problem, minors want us to fix it for them, but don't want to do the adult thing of taking responsibility for themselves and make their own leagues. Take charge, seek out younger players on this forum who feel the same way and invite them to an event you will sponsor.
There is enough rules and guidance on how events are run on this forum that you can follow the same pattern, the only thing hindering you is your commitment of resources(time, money, balls). And if you don't have enough of any of those, you should wait to play until you do.

I am not a minor, and I'll agree with you that they should take the initiative themselves. I am not moaning. I am discussing, and discussing can change things. If you think such efforts are futile, then please feel free to ignore this little corner of the forum. Perhaps good will come of this, an enterprising young lad might step forward and contact fightertown or CQB. This is a suggestion that is much more productive than "wait your turn", we seem to agree here.

You are not the first - you won't be the last ...

the reason nothing changes is because the majority of adult players are quite happy with the no minor rules at their events; and minors lack the credibility, money, and drivers licenses, to organize their own larger scale events for any extended period of time.

If you want to play with kids, play with kids - but dont expect to change anything around here.
