M16 Input

I'm looking into purchasing a new AEG - and it is going to be an M16. I need it to be around the $300 price range - I would also hope that is a good performer out of the box. But before I go out and order a CAM15A4, I was wondering if I could get some input on some different models.

Here is what I am currently considering -

1) Classic Army Armalite M15 A4 - $280. I have really heard nothing but good things about this AEG, and it seems to be the best choice for the price that most seem to go with. Any warnings or criticisms on this one would be appreciated.

2) VFC E-Series M4 200R - $270. With VFC's reputation, I'm a little wary of the low price on this model. I am having a hard time finding out about this aeg, does anyone have any experience with it? I would be happy to own a VFC for this price as long as there are no serious fallbacks.

3) G&G Full Metal GR-16 A3 - $260. Not really sure what to think on this one, I have learned to stay clear of G&G over the years..but I'm willing to give it a chance. Again, hoping for any input anyone can give me.

4) Marui M16A2 - $256. I've never owned a TM, but I'm not going to rule them out immedietly. Again, looking for input.


Any recommendations/criticisms/comparisons anyone can make would be highly appreciated, I don't want to be too hasty on this buy.

I hear nothing but praise for the current lines of G&G guns.

Also... if you're willing to stretch a bit higher in price, KWA seems to be putting out great-performing rifles right out-of-the-box.

TM's may have low FPS, but they come with what we at Mile High call "TM Magic". Basically... even with low low FPS... they shoot super straight... amazingly so for stock form guns.

I won't voice an opinion on the VFC, because I don't know anything about them personally.

I hear the CA's are slipping on their internals, especially on the sportlines of course, but I can't personally verify that.

Thank you for the input - I'll take a look at the KWA's as well. I've been out of the sport for the past two years so my information is a little dated - I'll definitely have a closer look at the G&G.

The KWA is a great rifle. I have no experience with them but have known quite a few that have. I personally own the CA M15A4 and it has given me no problems at all. The G&G M16 is another great rifle. I too have heard bad things about their internals but I just dropped a whole new gearbox in mine to so I have no input on that one that could help.

I have a CA m15a4 X series and it is an amazing gun. I have only had it for about 2 weeks now but out of the 4 or 5 thousand shots i have fired there has been no problems. the only complaint i have is the whole working bolt catch thing is cool and all but just a luxury, also the dust cover has a little prong that clips onto the body of the gun and it has already started to wear (probably going to no lock on after much more use) it would of been nice to have magnets. but other than that no complaints.. internals seem rock solid

almost forgot, the hop up on mine might be crapping out because every once and a while a bb goes way off from the others. could just be my gun but idk

I have two VFC AEG's and they have quite possibly the most accurate and highest quality externals of any AEG I've owned (I've have had VFC, TM, CA, G&G, HurricanE, Guarder AEGs and external kits among others not worth listing) and the quick and easy take down is awesome. The internals are good too with auto shimming gears (other models may not have this) and have held up quite well over time, my only issue being a slightly worn out cut off lever from extended use with a li-poly that was just wear and tear (caused 2 shot burst in semi intermittantly). My only some what of a complaint is that it has a poly carb hop up but it too has held up great, making me think twice about poly carb hop ups because not only has it held up to abuse but it could also be a good reason that it has such a great airseal too. I'm thoroughly please with VFC and would recommend them, especially when it comes to external quality.
