Teens shot BBs at speed cameras in Southwest Valley
« on: October 06, 2009, 02:07:28 PM »
The Arizona Republic .
Authorities on Monday arrested two juveniles for allegedly firing B.B. guns at photo enforcement equipment, officials said.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a statement saying that officers received a report of shots fired from a black Volvo headed east on Interstate 10 on Monday afternoon.

DPS officers stopped the Volvo carrying five juveniles after it exited on Verrado Way. They found two B.B. guns and an Airsoft assault-style rifle, a replica that uses pellets. Officers believe the weapons were used to shoot at street signs and photo enforcement equipment.

A male and female juvenile were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct in connection with the incident, according to authorities

Not to mention that they must have accidentally forgot to say that the pellets are made of plastic.

It seems that more and more kids are shooting at innocent bystanders and property instead of each other like we do! Sounds like they need a christening from all of us at Airsoft Arizona! [smilie=armata_pdt_05.gif]

Or they just need to get out and play at one of our events even if they are minors, of coarse they wont listen to anything you say at first... but a few shots with a 400+ fps gun and they will start to obey orders and learn that this is a great sport that needs to be protected. That’s another reason why we took minors on our team... because it keeps them from being well minors with Airsoft guns!

This is exactly why so many people don't understand that not everyone who buys an airsoft gun shoots in public areas... most of us go to somewhere that is, for the most part (mcdowell incident), secluded and at least have the brains to put up some sort of signs or tell the people within a certain radius that we are going to be using this area and are allowed... then at least they know that there is going to be a skirmish in the area... in Cottonwood my freinds and I have the idea of putting up signs and buying airhorns the day of the war so people can blow the airhorn when they are entering........................ but honestly this is a perfect example of  ](*,)

I agree Jeff I wish that we could get a bunch of people from Airsoft Arizona to go to 3tv news and show our side of the story, to kind of contradict their actions and show that we are not just a bunch of hoodlums with toy guns.

That would be a good idea...but just so you know TV3 and the others charge for the air time, even during a broadcast.....best bet would to do something at a big event and convince a few of the Airsoft vendors to front the money, and then place their banners in the back ground..... Sorry before I wa a cop I worked in the media....

i thought you could just email reporters and ask them if theyd like to do a story on the hobby. enough requests and theyd probably do it. i mean cmon its phoenix, what BIG news is there besides killings, rape, robbery, and kids with pellet guns shooting at speed cameras that are hated by EVERYBODY who drives....
