What kinda gun should I get?
« on: October 10, 2009, 06:29:35 PM »
I read online that JG was good, talked to some people in person and they said it was crappy. I am new so I have no idea. I am looking to get an AEG (semi/fully auto) that is a good gun. My budget is about $150 (shipped) and I want to get a new one (so please dont offer to sell my your used one) Just looking for advice on what are good companys that wont break in the first 10 min. I also want to get one that has a rail system on it so i can put a scope/laser/etc. on it. Anyone with any good knolage on this let me know. I was thinking of getting an AK47 but well see what happens.

I had a JG as my first gun, a 2009 jg s- system. I did not like it. JG is a very very generic brand. I did not like the hop up, the distance or the internals. Very bad gun, what i had. I hear that the 2010 jg's are better.

Most airsoft retailers offer free shipping for anything abov 100 dollars.  Aks are nice with Big 600 round high caps. the new EBB ones look kinda fun to play with.

i know AKs were getting pretty cheap, could find the cyma ones for under 100 dollars, idk about the internals. If i were to ge an AK, id get one of the EBB ones, just my perfernce. Idk about thier internals tho, so dont hold me on that.

i have not had any experience with cyma, jg or any other clone guns. i would go to gearbox airsoft and check out what they have so you can get a feel for different types of guns then make your decision there (they have echo 1 and Classic army sportlight guns) i have heard good things about both brands plus they are around your price range (approx 165$)

Go to airsoftgi.com

Check out the G&G Combat Machine M4/AK-47.  You will need a battery and charger, so it should come out to like $180 with a 10% coupon.

JG armalites aren't the greatest IMO. Externals are meh, internals are pretty good.  Performance is okay, not the greatest.

My next choice would be a JG/E1 G36C.  Great little guns, they will always have a special placed in my heart.  :D weaponblender has them for $120 shipped I believe.

personally Roy, I would say go to Evike.com because they have a good selection and most of it (except Systema and gas rifles of course) are pretty well in your budget, although they can get up to $300. I am getting a CYMA/Kart gun and have been told that it will do pretty good... also go onto some video site like Youtube.com and look for reviews on the gun your looking at and usually you will get someone smart giving you the review rather than a kid who shoots the gun into a neighborhood...

JGs aren't bad.
Unless you try to upgrade them... I haven't heard of anyone doing a hassle-free upgrade.

Their Sig552 is a very decent gun.... worked great for me... shot pretty hot, was very accurate, and under $110.
That is, until I opened the gearbox... it's taken me almost 2 months to get it firing again. lol.

Also... Look at the Echo 1 G36's. Cheap, very reliable, very sturdy, and pretty good (fps is low, but still very accurate). Also, JG's and Echo 1 both come with batteries, so that's definitely a plus IMO.

JGs aren't any trouble to upgrade.  My Guarder spring guide, SP110, SRC cylinder and metal bushings all fit fine.

I now know of one person who upgraded without hassle.

Want to get my sig running really well, I must have totally screwed the pooch on this one. After countless trouble-free upgrades, I guess I just fucked one up finally.
