Thanks for all of the interest in the upcoming Left 4 Dead zombie adventure.  Here is some additional info about the game.

Road Conditions
MTT Staff has cleared most of the sand from the wash so that most vehicles should be able to make it.  It is still recommended that vehicles drive carefully as there are quite a few pot holes on the roads that have not been repaired.

Game Info
While L4D is primarily a zombie adventure, there will be some standard milsim battles at the event.  The first mission takes place about a week before the infection and will feature a large battle between the Jihadist and Coalition Forces.  There is not an ammo limit during the first mission. This mission is designed to give everyone a chance to test out their weapons, meet their team members, learn the field, and get some trigger time.  The first mission will also determine what areas the different teams start from during the L4D missions.

Weapon Selection
Players are welcome to use any type of airsoft weapon for the event as long as it shoots under 375 FPS with .25 bb's.  MTT will be marking all weapons so that they can be easily identified as passing the chrono.

When choosing what weapon you plan to use consider these factors -
1 Coalition and Jihadist teams (4 to 6 players each) start with 1 speed loader (provided by MTT) to split among their surviving team members.

2 Both teams will be trying to secure the objectives necessary to survival.  Plan on having to fight enemy survivors as well as zombies.  Remember that only four survivors will be able to continue onto the next mission.  Each group will have several opportunities to try the missions.

3 Many of the objectives will be hidden inside of complex buildings that have very tight corners, mouse holes, and hallways.  Long rifles may make close quarter fighting difficult.

4 Ammo will be vary scarce.  Select a weapon that ammo can be loaded into quickly from "found" or "captured weapons".  Players will be allowed to carry an empty speed loader to facilitate this.

Game Considerations
Please understand that Left 4 Dead is a zombie scenario game.  It gives participants a chance to experience a zombie apocalypse without any of the real world brain munching and throat biting.  As such, your experience will be based on your tactics, team, and luck.  Many players will find that their missions end much sooner than others due to a difficiency of any of the three previously mentioned attributes.

MTT will do our best to provide a balance between the two teams competing for survival.  For example, we will not put a team of experienced coalition forces who train on a regular basis at the Urban Assault Course against a group of friends who have never played airsoft.  However, there are bound to be match ups where one team has better equipment (range and accuracy) and more importantly, has trained together at the UAC.

Understand that everyone won't be the hero (or even survive the first mission) at the end of the event.  Most everyone at the event will end up as part of the undead hordes.  Just think about all of the zombie games and movies for a moment.  Every one of those is filled with thousands of zombies who were once people trying to survive the end of the world.  Watch your back, take care of your team, and fight like he** to stay alive because a momentary lapse in security is all it takes to become a human happy meal.

Most importantly, come to the event with the goal of having fun.  Afterall, if you find that you are ending up a zombie sooner than later, maybe this is nature's way of telling you to spend less time in front of the game console mowing down zombies and getting out into the real world to hone those freak bag killing skills.  :D

Here is a preview of the missions from Left 4 Dead.

Mission 1 – The Battle (One week prior to the outbreak)
Coalition forces battle against Jihadists for control of a suburb of Baghdad, Iraq.  Each force battles for control key buildings within the battlefield.

Mission 2 – The Rescue (One week after the outbreak)
Small pockets of survivors of the outbreak have secured key buildings against the hordes of the undead in Iraq.  A transmission over a survival radio frequency from an unknown individual indicates that both a cure and an escape option exist.  This individual has secured himself in an abandoned building and transmits his last known coordinates over the radio.  Survivors of both the Coalition Forces and Jihadist intercept this transmission.  Teams must accomplish the following objectives:

oMaintain a secure building
oLocate and secure the “Advisor”
oLocate and secure functional transportation

Mission 3 – The Escape
Members of the surviving team have secured “The Advisor” and transportation.  The Advisor relates that he was part of a convoy transporting a sample of the cure that was ambushed three days after the outbreak.  The Advisor believes that the sample is still at the ambush site.  The Advisor also relates that he can coordinate an extraction by his "Company" via satellite phone.  Members of the surviving team must accomplish the following objectives:

oProvide security for the Advisor
oLocate and secure the ambush site
oRecover the cure
oSecure a satellite phone
oSecure an area to provide the Advisor with time to contact the “Company”
oClassified Objective 1
oClassified Objective 2
oMove to the extraction site

One that I know of, is that they can only move as fast as they can drag one leg....so I hope you're faster than a one legged zombie, oh and you're not infected unless they get two hands on you

EVENT UPDATE

We are still two weeks away from Left 4 Dead and the game is close to sold out.  Currently there are 46 players who have reserved spaces for the event.  Of those 18 have prepaid and 10 are MTT Annual Pass Owners (AP's don't have to prepay).

This means that there are approximately 18 players who have reserved a space by email that are either going to get to Gearbox before Feb 24 and prepay or pay $30 at the event.

Our staff has learned from previous events that approximately 1/3 of players who reserve a space at an event will not show up for the game.  As such, extra spaces will be made available for the game.  The game rules may be sightly modified if all registered players actually show up. (Example: A team might consist of eight players instead of six, provided with two speed loaders of bb's instead of one. However, only 6 players might move to the next round).

Current available spaces are:
Coalition: 10 spaces
Jihadist: 4 spaces

Again to reserve a space, please email your name, age, and team selection to MTTStaff@gmail.com

To complete your registration, visit Gearbox Airsoft in Tempe and  prepay $20 by Feb 24.  Game rules and schedule will be sent out by email only to those who have registered or reserved a space.

Q:Will tri-shot shotguns have a different ammo limit?

A: Players who want to use a tri-shot shotgun will be allowed to have two fully loaded shells. Players who use shotguns can only give shells to other players with shotguns.  The ammo can't be stripped from a shotgun shell and loaded into an AEG.
