Rebel Union Airsoft at Fightertown 2-21-10
« on: February 14, 2010, 08:34:21 PM »
Open games at Fightertown on 2-21-10, admission is $20. Games will run from 9am to 5pm. same rules as always, bios will be required as well as eye protection and mouth protection, full face protection for those under 13.

games will consist of a variety of objective based games such as our version of domination, a game in which 7 flag poles must have your teams flag raised at a majority of the locations to claim victory when the clock runs out. we also will have simpler objective games such as team deathmatch.

i know this probibly sounds dumb but what are bios?

Bios are bio-organic BBs (I think).  The difference is regular BBs are fully plastic, which take years to degrade.  Throwing millions of regular BBs downrange is like littering plastic bottles (though you'd have to use a LOT of them to get the same effect :) ).

Bios are more environmentally friendly, since they break down much faster.  Especially when it rains.  I think they're a combination of plastic and some other organic material.

FYI: this is just my own observations.  I'm sure someone can give a better description than me.  Anyway, Fightertown doesn't want a lot of plastic littering the ground for a decade, or I think the guy who owns the land will start having second thoughts about letting Airsofters play there.  We don't want that :)

& a paintball mask should be just fine.  As long as it protects your eyes and mouth, you're good I think.  Note: The part covering the eyes HAS HAS HAS to be able to take a fast BB to the glass and not break.  I think ANSI standard is 1 joule of energy (1 .20 gram bb striking at 330 fps = ANSI I think).  Most paintball masks are MUCH stronger than that, so you're just fine.  ;)

& there are no stupid questions, so don't be afraid to ask.  I didn't know myself what a bio was for a LONG time, hehe ;)

Anyway, I'm starting to write a novel.  Just know that I'll be there at Fightertown for this game.  Can't wait!  :)
