Modern Warfare 2 Vs. Battlefield Bad Company 2
« on: March 25, 2010, 10:23:52 PM »
Obviously Bad Company wins lol my reasons..
-Bad Company is more realistic when it comes to gravity E.G bullets drop from long distances
-Bad Company runs the frostbite engine a graphics engine far superior to MW2's graphic engine
-Vehicles
-More weapons
-Vehicle Perks
-Vast maps
-More realistic gun sounds
-The ability to hear gunshots and explosions from a distance

Feel free to post your oppinions here

I'd have to go with BF2 because I like the big teams and vehicles. However the servers were crap the first couple of weeks.

Yeah COD 4 is better than both hands down haha, but if I had to pick one of the two I would go with MW2.

why would you play a console game ported to pc?

BC2 over MW2.. they did include dedis, i just hope they loosen the grip on them so hosters can have more freedom. by the way, 7 is confirmed to be in development by treyarch, and a little birdy says THIS release will have dedis.. so screw activision imo, they lost all business from me. (like it matters..lol)

oh, yeah, im replying to this assuming you are talking about the PC platform. for 360, i would say MW2 since its obviously a built-for-console game. ps3, most likely the same, although i do not own one.

I'd Have to go with Battle Field BC2.
Why BF:
Vast play areas and a greater number of players over MW2
Squad based urban combat, vehicle combat, air combat, pretty much anything your into.
Realistic projectile inertia and drop.
Realistic weapons and perks.
Class based gameplay.

Why not MW2:
Very repetitive
Unrealistic Gameplay(you can't shoot down a gunship with a any type of rocket-launcher, and nukes just go to far)
Very, Very overrated.
Not a true squeal to the unique, original game, basically they just made this expansion and added new weapons and perks.
Ridiculous rank up system(The first game was much more practical and less confusing.)
Very short, cinematic story mode.

Overall:
MW2 is an acquired taste developed by playing the first game. It is repetitive, overrated, and very far from a master peace as many make it out to be. The FPS technology is nothing anyone hasn't seen, and there are plenty other FPS that do this much better, for example Rainbow Six Vegas. This franchise is just another Halo, deny it or not, this game is just an expansion of the first. BF, on the other hand, is quite more appealing. It is a re-amp of the first Bad Company with elements from BF2, and an entirely new feel, and physics system. The cinematic, realtime action is just astonishing, and the realistic combat triumphs over the MW series.

i agree with mastafarian, the frostbite engine is simply ...awesome?

i mean, i find myself playing as the engineer class just because i like to blow holes in walls.. the fact that the environment is almost 100% destructible adds so many more tactical elements to the game, when you play it with a squad utilizing VOIP or even just play it as a pick-up game.

i have played both franchises since their debut on the PC platform, battlefield has always been great, and it just keeps getting better...

as far as CoD goes, 1 was great, 2 was great (even though it was the same flavor as 1), 3 skipped PC, 4 came out and REALLY kicked ass, 5 came out and was basically a repack of 4 with different models, weapons, and maps (i know, different studio.. the fact still stands that the game is too much alike to 4), then we get this BS named mw2...? as previously stated, its more like an expansion pack. except it costs 60$, and the matchmaking crap is absolutely ridiculous for the PC platform. i just think they completely killed off whatever was left of the game...

im hoping treyarch can somewhat recover with 7, but i have a feeling it wont be up to par. theres only so much you can do with a title before it becomes "come on, really?" i mean, think about it... 7 separate titles... its worse then halo. halo wasnt that bad.. well, it was bad, but not THAT bad - compared to whats happening to the call of duty line.

like i said, i have played both franchises since vanilla, they are two completely different games, but cod just keeps getting worse.

and again, i play PC. where these games made their original debut, and got popular.

Exactly.  As I've heard it put; 'it's like Twilight for guys.'

Don't own a copy of it and doubt I ever will.

Still sticking with MW2
simple reason it was the first fps game i got super involed with other then cod4 which i freaking dominated in.

BF2
Simple i dont like big games at all, i can't stand ground war on cod either. i like 6vs6 games not like 30 50vs 30 50

Just my opinion

Definately Xbox bigger online community easier controlls and less likely to lag depending on what computer you have

Well it totally depends on the user not necessarly how big the community is, if your the person that likes working with computers and likes to upgrade and what not then Pc would win. Xbox would be better for the consumer that just likes a generic console that is not really needs to have upgrades unless you like to mod and get a unfair advantage which you should not. Lagging flying tank doesen't matter when it comes to xbox and pc you can lag on both do to your internet supplier not the console or computer playing on.

Basicly a average kid or adult will most likely go with a xbox because its cheaper to maintain than a Pc.
Just my opinion  :)
