i agree with mastafarian, the frostbite engine is simply ...awesome?
i mean, i find myself playing as the engineer class just because i like to blow holes in walls.. the fact that the environment is almost 100% destructible adds so many more tactical elements to the game, when you play it with a squad utilizing VOIP or even just play it as a pick-up game.
i have played both franchises since their debut on the PC platform, battlefield has always been great, and it just keeps getting better...
as far as CoD goes, 1 was great, 2 was great (even though it was the same flavor as 1), 3 skipped PC, 4 came out and REALLY kicked ass, 5 came out and was basically a repack of 4 with different models, weapons, and maps (i know, different studio.. the fact still stands that the game is too much alike to 4), then we get this BS named mw2...? as previously stated, its more like an expansion pack. except it costs 60$, and the matchmaking crap is absolutely ridiculous for the PC platform. i just think they completely killed off whatever was left of the game...
im hoping treyarch can somewhat recover with 7, but i have a feeling it wont be up to par. theres only so much you can do with a title before it becomes "come on, really?" i mean, think about it... 7 separate titles... its worse then halo. halo wasnt that bad.. well, it was bad, but not THAT bad - compared to whats happening to the call of duty line.
like i said, i have played both franchises since vanilla, they are two completely different games, but cod just keeps getting worse.
and again, i play PC. where these games made their original debut, and got popular.
