G&g M14 questions
« on: April 08, 2010, 08:36:47 PM »
I was thinking of purchasing a G&G M14 and I needed some insight. First off what kind of bipod will work with this gun and is any modification needed to attach it. Also what is the length of the inner barrel and can you attach silencers to this gun. If there's already a topic on this my bad. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks  :D

Any bipod that uses the Harris style mounting system will work if you purchase a Bipod adaptor for the gun.  You are pretty much limited to that, and the M14E2 bipod (good luck finding one!).  The only other option would be a full front Nitro V rail and mounting a rail mounted BiPod.

Inner barrel length is 509mm, on the full length you can attach a supressor.  The SoC16 can attach a supressor but you will be removing the entire front sight in the process in addition to part that holds the front on.  Read: No supressor for the SOC16 unless you get one designed for the SOC16.  As far as I know, there are not any for the G&G SOC16.

Not going to lie, I did this for 20$, and it works.
The UTG, barrel mounted bipod, they call it a "Universal Barrel Mount" now, will fit on the M14.
Or at least, it will if it has the same dimensions of my Echo. I had one lying around, and figured, what the heck, I will give this a try, and it actually fits quite nicely onto, what would be on a real M14,the Gas Cylinder, and between the barrel.
Looks great, works well, did it for under 20$

IMO, the Harris style of bipod would look more realistic, and the bipod adapter would put it in a better spot on the gun, where you could get a realistic looking Bipod, with a great range of movement, but, if your stripped for cash, the UTG Under barrel works just fine.
