AKs can be made to perform exceptionally well on the cheap too. Those two guns have hopups that work very well and are very adjustable, which is extremely important to long-range fire.

agreed, ak's would fit your purpose quite well.

otherwise, go spring and you can get some serious bang for your buck if you shop smart. that requires more discipline then using an AEG or gas-powered weapons platform, but I think its a blast.. (no pun intended)

Spring won't work. Read the original post next time?

woops, I thought I had already read through this thread before

:| easy to confuse since there are so many "which kind of rifle should I get" threads..

ANYWAYS

g3 with full auto disabled, 170% spring, and a 500mm TB with a nice hopup ;) actually you could get away with keeping full auto on the 170, after putting a good amount of rounds through it you should be close enough to the 400 mark

yes, but as stated above, springs will do no good for our three hits down and medics.

I know AxisOfOil has a badass M16 sniper.

IMO, it is more fun to have a gun that works every time than it is to have a gun that shoots 25 more ft than the next guy. Just get a full length AEG and get out and play, if you need more range, be sneakier.

Being sneaky doesnt help when your gun cant fire for crap. But i like snipers anyway, so id rather have one of those than a long barrel AEG.

I personally like the SR25 with full auto disabled. I have a CA SR25 and it has good distance.

Lol. It breaks once and everybody has to know. :P
But I agree. Sneakier helps more than a great gun.

Sneaky helps when you are playing somewhere that really allows for a sneaky mentality. I have found a lot of desert play just doesn't do it. Also I think it is a hell of a lot easier to sneak when you have a squad behind you, providing covering fire and a distraction. Without those two things I don't really consider sneaking an option, cause you just turn into a camping dickhead.

Yea.  Being sneaky works for a little while in Desert play, but as soon as you open the first shot, you've got to either move or die.  I find that getting a gun that outranges other people is incredibly advantageous

every time we finish a game, im always like "LOOK guys, i actually used two full mags this time!"

its kind of a joke, i almost never fire my weapon.. thats why i love playing up in the mountains, or other places conducive to being stealthy.

oh, and thats with an AEG.. not a "sniper" rifle or DMR

Personally i don't like the m14's But that being said it will probally be your best bet, the Semi-auto Sniper that i have also can't be built for under 250$

Echo1 Stag15 M8A3 (M4)- 225$
510mm 6.03 TBB- 35$
Black side extender-40$
M150 Spring- 14.99$
Putting the spring in(cause i have no idea what i'm doing)-30$

in this configuration with full auto taken out i am putting out 515 on average with .20s

You can in truth turn any AEG into a "sniper" rifle but you also have to take into consideration that most places won't let them in. the other consideration is that depending on how high you tune the AEG the heavier the BB's that you will need to use. My gun can shoot .20's but they just fly all over the place with no accuracy what so ever. My advantageous is that i also own another M4 and can carry both into a battle without having to carry 2 types of ammo. I wish you the best of luck
