Decompressing an M60VN

It doesn't have a semi-auto feature.  How do I decompress the spring after use?.. time it just right?

I've heard that's just a myth and there is little to no damage if the spring is left compressed. Can someone validate this claim? I've always wondered.

FPS will be affected if left for an extended period. You just need to time it right, same as m249s.

Leaving a spring compressed with most definitely ruin its strength (deform its K-constant, you're springing your spring).

Any tips, Ganef?  I just bought the A&K M60VN (RAMBO!) and am thinking about the spring inside.  I might want to change it to an M120.  Does it have the quick spring switch like most M249 gearboxes?

You guys do realize that the leaving a spring compressed myth was disproven, multiple times, on both Arnies, ASR, and Airsoft Mechanics right?  Quality springs will not lose FPS beyond the initial "bedding in" if left compressed.  One of the guys on Arnies left a set of random stock springs fully compressed for something like 6 months using bolts, nuts and washers and popped em in a gun and saw no difference in FPS before or after.  

Is it good on the rest of the internal componenets, most definetly not.
