This might give some incentive to join the civilian side:
They're the only team (to my knowledge) that are allowed to use melee weapons. SOFs, no. PMCs, no. Zombies... I doubt it.
Civilians are the only ones able to whip out an improvized (plastic, non-hard) melee weapon and go Medieval all over a Zombie's chest. And to be clear, I'm not talking about the rinky-dink bayonettes.
I'm talking about the wildest fantasies people dreamed up in Left for Dead 2.
War Hammers.
Battle Axes
Police Batons
Maybe there's even a foam chainsaw prop somewhere. You can make your own "BUZZ" sound as you slice into a Zed-Head's chest cavity. Anything that a clever, resourceful civvie can improvize is a valid weapon.
It just has to be SOFT (plastic, nerf, or foam: if you can recieve a light hit with it and not be in danger, it'll be fine).
I found a couple of these prop weapons at a costume shop North of East Baseline Rd. & South Power Rd. (3 miles away from Vanguards). There's a handful of others that are no more than 5 miles away. Just google "Holloween Costumes" and the zip code 85234 (Vanguard's Zip Code in Gilbert). You can buy your melee weapon the day before the game if you like (holding the last training session on Oct 29th). It's the perfect opportunity.
Survivors, don't pass up this chance. SOFs and PMCs may run out of ammo (Us Z's will make
sure of that), but that doesn't mean you have to lay down and be eaten when you run out. Whip out that sword and shield, and practice your Lord of the Rings combat. A light hit to a Z's chest or back, and he's out of the fight for 5 - 10 seconds.
People, please. Sign up for Civilians and Zombies. SOFs and PMCs get to play any number of games every week. But honestly, how many opportunities are you going to have like this in Airsoft? Swinging fireman's axe's and machettes into 3 - 4 Zombies' chests.
Zombies, same thing. We get frickin CLASSES this time. Zombie roleplay. Ambushes. Massive Horde Rushes into rooms of scared, defenseless civilians. Fighting with the Tank at your side! (You have to see it to believe it).
Who knows. Maybe the Zombie team can hold their own Best Costume contest. This isn't an MTT plan, just something off the top of MY head (and I don't speak in any way for MTT, so don't spam their e-mails with questions about contest rules or stuff like that). But mabye it's something the Zombie team can come up with on their own.
Anywho, enough ranting. More Zombies. More Civilians. Everyone knows we'll be having the REAL fun on game day.
Down with the Living!
