Evike's King Arms M433 HEDP Grenade Shells
« on: February 07, 2011, 05:48:49 PM »
1 out of 3, I order actually worked. Did the reset, filled the bbs, and added green gas. One was missing an o ring, and the other had moving bearings I could hear rattle. These were the replacements for the Matrix grenades that were placed on back order.

Be careful with Evike. [smilie=armata_pdt_19.gif]

I've heard horrible things about evike, and this is just reinforcing my want to buy locally and from asgi.

Stay local with APD, Gearbox, and Command Post. You can look at the gear before you buy, ASGI is blowing through their gear too fast and errors are being made. My G4 came with a faulty high cap.

Which is their problem how?  I've always been confused how airsofters get in this mentality.  When I buy a real gun, or electronics, or whatever, the retailer doesn't test it first.  It's not their job.  If they want to, that's cool, I'm just not sure why airsofters consider testing the gun to be the rule, not the exception.

Well the problem is that they promise that they test fire it, and they even sign a little paper that they test fired it, and when the gun or anything on the gun arrives faulty that makes me think that they arnt test firing and just telling lies about it.

Usually it is shipping.  My macbook showed up, hit the power button, wouldn't turn on.

I expect what they promise, everything to be in working order. The gun itself, I do not have one negative thing to say about it. The mag was faulty, easy to understand right? They may fix it, they may send a new one, point is when products are sold everything should be in working order before it arrives.

Also it was a G4 custom gun, that they have to assemble themselves and tested before shipping it out, I understand it is a G&G base for the internals, with add ons, but this AEG did not come right from the manufacturer without it being handled by ASGI.

Yes, they should.  But it's not the retailers fault when they don't.

That doesn't mean they used that mag for testing.  I personally wouldn't if I was doing it and I know Gearbox uses their own mag for that sort of thing as well.  Don't get me wrong, it sucks that the mag didn't work.  I just think you are getting angry at the wrong company.

I'm not pissed at ASGI, I'm just stating what happened with my package when I bought it, everything was perfect except for the mag, did not wanna mess with warranty so I sent it back just to follow protocol, to see if the warranty will even cover something like that. Live and learn, I guess.

I am though indeed pissed at EVIKE. Even if they do not test them, they should know something is wrong when you hear rattling inside the grenade shell, and is missing a very obvious oring, both separate shells, different problems. If I want used gear, I'll buy it off here. If I buy brand new, I expect better quality than anything that is used, and I would like it work, or have it covered by warranty.

I understand both retailers are busy from large amounts of inbound calls, sales, and inventory, but it does not take a genius to know something is wrong before you package a product.

Even at my previous jobs, I would always give a once over with anything I sold, or handled before actually selling it, or interacting with the customer.

We'll just see what happens.

Thanks though Xaviermace, for your input, the retailer is not blame entirely, manufacturing could be accountable too. Receiving more than one faulty product from Evike though, in my case 4 items I've had to return now, just reinforces the fact that local retailers are comforting when they allow you to check out the product, order direct from the manufacturer, and provide direct customer service.

Who knows what they do at Evike, and ASGI?

I personally have great experiences with ASGI as well as Airsoft Extreme. I've only made one order from AEX, but everything arrived within a couple of days, in perfect working condition. From ASGI, I've ordered everything from batteries to my KJW GBB, all of which work great and shipped without a hitch. Evike I won't even go near, way too many horror stories about them. I try to buy locally whatever/whenever I can, but ASGI is the next place I'll look if I need something.

Evike is sending a fresh pair of shells back. They will be posted for grabs later on in the week.
