Green Beret Checking Into The Net!
« on: February 09, 2011, 12:00:46 PM »
Hello,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Vince L. I am a Veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces with my primary MOS was 18D and my secondary, 18B. I would like your advice on where to purchase airsoft weapons and gear. I have looked at a few overseas websites like "RSOV" and "Ebairsoft". I ordered some basic gear but did not want to order a weapon because of the potential post 9-11 problems with shipping "weapons".

Can anyone recommend an American company who sells similar weapons and equipment? Are there any stores in the Phoenix metropolitan area worth visiting? I am also looking for an A-Team of highly squared away Airsoft Operators for a combat scenario photo shoot and to train with. I am interested in the OIF/OEF period. Being former Special Ops, I have a lot to offer any group/team.

I look forward to hearing from you and really appreciate your guidance in this new world of Airsoft.

De Oppresso Liber,
Vince "Vindog" L.

Go to the gearbox. SE corner of Southern and McClintock in Tempe. AZ Paintball Depot may be closer but you will find more knowledgeable staff at the gearbox.

First of all, thank you for your service to this great country.

Second of all, I would head to gearbox. They are the most knowladgable store in town, and would be able to help you a lot.  Marauder's tactical training sounds like the team you are looking for, one of them will most likely post in this thread so you can talk to them about it.

Come to some of the free games posted on the site, get to know people. Having a "Team" is not necessary for the sport.

First off, once again, thank you for your service. There is a strong military presence in AA, plenty of people who have served or who are currently serving. We have a good community of people here.

Secondly, Ganef nailed it. Come out to several games, get to know who’s who and see the different types of teams there are to choose from.  Each team gets something different out of airsoft and eventually you will find a team, which shares the same values.  The more people who bring their experience to the table the better chances we have to step this hobby up to the next level! Good luck and feel free to ask more questions.

I also second the Gearbox. Great selection for a local store, fully stocked with the essentials like gas and BBs. Best part? The staff knows their sh*t!

Thank you Sir for your service first of all, If you are looking for a mature no BS team i would recommend contacting CBdennis with The Infidels, A few of their team members are former or current military and are taking new players under their wing and you sound like a perfect fit for them.
