Grinding sound
« on: February 11, 2011, 05:42:13 PM »
Well my gun has already pretty much been broken since the semi-auto doesnt work but now its just making a grinding sound... I dont want to try to fix it myself and prefer a professional. How much would this cost to get fixed by Gearbox?

If memory serves, $30 to open up the gearbox + parts.  But I'd probably just call them and ask, or better yet bring it down as they can't troubleshoot it over the phone.

Is the grinding sound coming from the pistol grip? If so adjust the screw at the bottom til it sounds right. You also might want to remove the pistol grip base and check if the gear at the top of the motor (pinion gear) is missing teeth or grinded down. This will be a motor replacement or gear replacement dependimg on the make and model of your gun. I can only assume it is an M4, M16 or SCAR.
